I do however have security clearance to work at Luton Airport, so I understand the tight security for anti terrorist reasons more than most on this thread do.
As an honest person then, you surely disapprove of rogue parking operators scamming people by demanding monies they are not entitled to?0 -
Apoca do not (repeat do not) tow away vehicles. They just issue parking charge notices. Perhaps you are confusing them with another company that do try to tow (and clamp) vehicles. But their operations are very questionable and are now under scrutiny by a well-known member of PePiPoo.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Why don't you put it to the test and see what happens?
No they can't...the law changed in October and Airports have missed it! They have not updated their byelaws as far as we can tell when scrutinising them on here and on pepipoo.
You never did read that pepipoo thread by x-streem did you? Only the Police or a Council can do this at Airports now (since October 2012) unless there's a byelaw saying otherwise and enabling towing/clamping. And there isn't!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Absolutely.
I haven't said anything to the contrary.
I think if the airport had contracted a company who only normally work for LA's, and therefore don't have such a bad reputation, then all these armchair experts wouldn't be giving out the same advice.0 -

So in your little world what would it be, the road hasn't been adopted by the council, so they can't issue a penalty without that and a TRO. And as clearly its not in the bylaws as can be seen. And by the fact that bylaws must be on signs and on the letter or ticket received.
Now explain how a parking charge notice suddenly becomes enforceable in the little bubble you live in.Jamie_Carter wrote: »Yes they can and do tow away vehicles for security reasons.

They can only tow with lawful authority on private land, if they don't have that under pofa 2012 it's illegal, and there are a number of cases going to the small claims in regards to it.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I didn't say that Apoca did tow away vehicles. What I said was that the 'fine' would most likely be as a deterrent to stop beople stopping in the restricted area, thinking that if they only stop quickly, then they won't get towed away. But if you park in any security sensitive area at an airport, your vehicle WILL be towed away if the tow truck gets to you in time. And this is for security reasons.0 -

You cel keep on about armchair experts, what exactly makes you such an authority on this subject ? Clearly you have an agenda, and clearly you can't back up your claims with verfiable facts, which makes you an armchair I can't say expert as clearly you are not, but lets just say an armchair haven't got a clue expert. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. ''Good news though. This is a private land fine. They are unenforceable. This is not a parking fine however it may look. These companies are private firms that have no more right to punish you for the manner of your parking than your neighbour does. Only the police or the local Council can do that.''
That was about an APCOA 'ticket' at...LUTON AIRPORT. Is she an armchair lawyer as well?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

BTP don't want to be tied up with parking issues, so a private company would act on their behalf.0 -

You are just ranting, and talking jibberish now.
Go and find out from an expert, and calm down. Just because you are on a crusade against parking companies, it doesn't mean that what you say is gospel.0
