I just got one of these fines, i stopped just before you get to the parking area, ti had police no parking signs right next to the wee van which is presumably the van which took my picture, can they enforce this for this area please? would really appreciate any help. Cheers, Woodythings

Did you read the thread you have just posted on?

It is clearly stated many times that this is a completely unenforceable ticket and that Ignoring is the best approach.

And pics mean nothing in the context of private parking.

So Ignore and be reassured! :)

I have taken an interest in this particular thread because i have found myself in the same situation as other people seeking advice from those who know how to deal with this situation.
It really pleases me to read the responses saying to ignore the letters demanding payment for the alleged contravention of Dropping off / Picking up outside of a designated parking area at LUTON AIRPORT.
I want to follow this same advice to ignore paying this invoice and all the other demands for payment that are to follow threatening me with the words that amount to,
I will come and take what you own of significant value and put it up for sale at auction to get whole or part payment from you if you don’t pay up immediately or within another given time’
I am then thinking that if all i need to do is ignore them, and eventually they give up leaving me alone to get on with my life this is fine with me.
But whilst i am at work having traveled by public transport leaving my car at home parked in my designated parking bay, that i drive only at the weekend.
I find myself toiling with the following senarios taking place the first of which is:
    1. Whilst i am at my 8hour day job, my neighbour calls to say that the bailiffs are carrying out their threat and are making off with my car on their tow-truck.
Can this happen? Please explain your anwser.

    That was hard to follow.

But no it can't happen as baliffs can only be instructed by a court if you don't pat following a ccj
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.
  • The 2nd scenario is:
    2. I return home unaware that the bailiffs watched and waited for me to enter my home.
Then 10mins later i get a knock at the door from the bailiff asking if i am
Lewis Hamilton in their effort to identify me as the person they have sent threatening letters too.
I say no i am Usain Bolt and that Lewis Hamilton is working abroad and won’t return for the next 2months, can i take a message on his behalf and that i am here only to check that all is okay at his house.
They say i believe that you are Lewis Hamilton, until you prove otherwise.
    What should i do?
The bailiff then tells me Lewis Hamilton continued to ignore their previous threatening letters demanding payment.
The bailiff now tells me we are here to collect payment or we will load his vehicle onto our tow-truck pointing at my car identifying it as the vehicle used in the alleged contravention.
The bailiff now says it is in the best interest of Lewis Hamilton that you contact him asap to make him aware of the current situation if i care what happens
If i found a problem at the house wouldn’t i beable to inform Lewis Hamilton asap to give him the bad news? the bailiff asks me.
What do i say in reply to this?
At this time im thinking go online login to this forum explain my situation to those of you who are still reading this thread and wait for your reply.
If i don’t get a good reply and the bailiff says we are leaving with the car now, you had enough time to inform Lewis Hamilton. I now find myself letting them tow the car away.
How do i get it back other than pay for it, which i could have done before they towed my car away?

First, can I ask you to edit your post and remove all the strange formatting junk that seems to have crept in.

Then, as well as this thread, take a look at many of the other threads on this forum. You will discover that people cannot just come round to your house and remove your stuff. For a start, the so-called "debt collectors" from whom you may hear cannot seize goods; they are toothless pen-pushers, with no more power than you or I. Only a court-approved bailiff can seize goods. And that can only happen if you lose a court case and don't pay up PLUS a whole load more steps along the way. That's not going to happen as APCOA aren't going to take you to court. And even if they did, they would likely lose. And even if they won, you'd get plenty of warning of any such eventuality.

So, in short, your scenario does not reflect reality in any way, and won't happen. Relax and continue to ignore (genuine, stamped court papers excepted).

    The 3rd scenario is:
    3. I return home to find the bailiffs loading my car onto their tow-truck and handing me a letter stating that they will accept payment of the alleged
    contravention including their own fees
and that are prepared to unload it again but only after they have got me to make a written or verbal contract agreeing to make part or full payment.
Having used their psychology on me, i feel that i can’t bear to be parted with my car, I now give into their demands and agree to make payment.
This is the time i wish i had paid the invoice within the first 14 days,
because at this moment the people whose advice i took saying to ignore the threatening letters are not here with me facing these bailiffs.
Not that i have money to pay the first invoice of £40, but now i wish that i had borrowed the money, to pay it
because i want this mugging to end as quickly as it began, and have evidence that i have paid their invoice.

I have only 3 days to make my decision to pay the £40 invoice.
I know that the message i have posted here seeking advice is not that good
but i have so many changes to it before finally posting it here.
Please put my mind at ease.

somewhat complex, laboured, and is even less likely than #1.

You are over-analysing this, and taking it all far too seriously. Go back to first principles. They have no case, you owe them nothing.

blah blah blah. For goodness sake! See above.

Please don’t reply with anything along the lines of just ignore the letters and they can’t enforce their threatening letters demanding payment because the scenarios i have mentioned i have not come across in these threads.
    ...

Please can reply with an answer for each scenario to put my mind at ease.
    JUST IGNORE THE LETTERS!

All your scenarios are flights of fancy, each more bizzarre then the previous, which is why they haven't come up previosuly. It just ain't going to happen. Bailiffs CANNOT come round and take your stuff. Take some time to research what they can and cannot do, and how they come to end up on your doorstep.
