I feel completely screwed and mugged off. I called today, the guy said he'll move me to the all rounder and give six months free, was initially on a legacy package.
I asked about 15 times (not an exaggeration either!) whether there's any FUP/ TM or anything at all different to what I get at the moment, and he said NO to all of the times I asked, so I thought, great! , then after...I decided to go digging myself and see if that's true or not only to find that there IS FUP and Traffic management.
Called immediately to request a switch back...DECLINED
Then the new person I was speaking to said "you shouldn't have been able to change the package anyway, you're not the account holder" ... but still, "sorry, can't change back to the old package!"
ARGHHHHHHHH
........
so, requested a MAC , then they offered 6 months free on the works package instead, I said i'll take the works (for the next two weeks at least, so that my bittorrent isn't completely TM'd for two weeks!) , but still need a MAC to change to SKY.... got off the phone and considered staying with o2, only to try and download ubuntu on bit torrent and find that i'm TM'd at 250kbps!!!!... GOODBYE o2, HELLO SKY!
I'VE BEEN ROBBED...
big time!!
i have a feeling all they're trying to do is shift people off the legacy packages and probably getting commission to do so!0 -
I received a letter (yea real post ) on Friday saying my BB was going up to £9.50 in March ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

Due to O2s price increase I was looking new broadband provider. Called up Sky to see about their phone/broadband packages and was offered same as new customers. Already have TV with them and currently out of contract. Called up to cancel TV and get bundle deal with Virgin and was offered;
- half price TV for 6 months
- half price line rental for 6 months
I was offered 6 months free if I stayed with O2 but decided against it due to bad reviews of Home Phone and my router has been playing up.0 -
Luckily for me, my new price would only be £10/month for BB & phone. I got the free 12 months O2 Standard BB (I only get 6.5MB/s on my line) with the 12 months £9.50 O2 Homephone contract before the new packages came in. Come September though, and it would go up to £19.50/month and I'll have to see what offers are on.0

Just out of contrct with o2 on their old standard tariff was going to go else where got pac code (only offered 3 months free) but rang up again to see if will offer better deal ended up getting the phone anytime package for £13.50 & the works free for 12 months ! I no staying on the old package would be preffered ie no traffic management etc but i do very little downloading xbox live only occasionally and the odd film on sky through the xbox so the cost was more important so ive got all inclusive phone and the top package all for 13.50 pmonth which i think is a good deal0

Do they switch you to the works straight away? How does it compare to your standard home broadband legacy package?
You have switched from the lowest tier (legacy package) to the highest tier (new package) so it will be interesting to hear your experiences.0 -
Received a letter Saturday from O2 advising that from 31 March my broadband is increasing from £7.66 to £14.50!
I don't think so!!
I understand the need for increments now and again however two things about this get my goat:
I've only recently renewed with them (superb speed and service thus far) but no mention of any increase. Actually put it down as I said was thinking of leaving;
The nonchalant, arrogant and very brief and matter of fact wording.
A little call in order methinks.0 -
are you sure you've still got the mobile discount? you might want to ask them?
Not with o2 mobile.
Got a discount for staying with them previously.
Just rang them and Thomas advised that the £5 still applies so £9.50 in fact.
He confirmed still unlimited and no traffic management but it's only 8MB dl max (yeah right! lol) anyway.
Yeah, I can live with that as the service has been great.
Hope it continues.:whistle:0 -
I know some people earlier in this thread called to cancel and were apparently offered a discount to stay on the CURRENT unlimited tarriffs. Are you guys really on the current tarriffs still or have you been sneakily moved to the new ones? I too am thinking of calling to cancel and hoping to get a deal to stay on the current unlimited broadband, but am hesitant to do so in case it makes things worse !0
