Julie Georgina - Don't forget the discount off you get from some supermarkets if you work there.

thats true - my Ds2 works at Morrisons and gets 10% off plus we get a card with the same off too, really helps with our food shopping.
I know you said you'd looked online for jobs, but I think sometimes supermarkets advertise jobs in store. I think you can also ask for an application form and they can keep your details on record for when something comes up. :)

Morrisons and Tesco in our area have boards outside the shop and also at Morrisons you need to ask at customer services as they havea list of available positions.

esm - glad you got paid:T

JC - good luck in your new job!

wanted to say more but have forgotten now what it was.

Thankyou all for thinking of me this morning. I had a nice suprise at the hospital as my case has been taken over by a lovely lady who used to care for me at my previous hospital:T and knows my history well. She's wonderful, very kind and explains everything well and draws diagrams to make it easier to understand so I was put at my ease which was great. I had a biopsy taken as there is a suspect area showing up - 2 to 3 weeks for the result.
I'm home now for the afternoon, bit of tummy ache but glad its done.

    Plans for later

ironing and a quick tidy up.
Tea is pasta with philadelphia in it with some mushrooms and spring onions too with burgers for the others and a quorn burger for me.

Thats about it for now, have a nice afternoon all x
    Do what you love :happyhear

Thanks tappers - I still feel rough. I've skived off uni and come home instead. I've just had lunch and then I'm going to bed for few hours. Hopefully I'll feel better later so I can still go on my date tonight :D
I have been looking online for supermarket work... but there is nothing in my area... I have so many stores around here but no one has advertised jobs recently!

JulieGeorgiana - here a lot of supermarket jobs go through word of mouth and friend's of friend's. My friend's mum is manager of local Tesco and she always asked my friend to spread the word about any vacancies. Hand your CV in store and get to know the personnel manager! Good luck!

  • hello all.
Had a rough few days. My cough is driving me insane.
The upside is my appetite has all but disaapeared!
Today have cleaned the bathroom & kitchen. Also cleaned some mould/mildew from around some of the window frames upstairs.
My moneysaving is going really well so far this year. I am menu planning & writing a list everytime I go to the shop.
I have also stopped going to town etc. I don't need anything & no doubt if I go I'll see stuff I "need". Have also done really well & nt used up much diesel.

Love (((hugs))) & spoons all round

:rotfl: how similar are our lives today?! both feeling too ill to go on our dates!

I went to the doctor and it's really hard to tell what's wrong, kidney infection? flu? mixture?!
I had to give a urine sample but I drink so much that it was too dilute to test there  So off my samples go to "the lab". She couldn't fathom just how much water I drink and kept asking if I was sure I meant "litres" and not pints or cups! My poor kidneys :o

And, Taplady, am so glad the new consultant is a lovely lady and you know each other from previous appointments. It is so important to feel secure in these people but their bedside manner can often be very clinical!! Hugs, Silver x

    Afternoon peeps,

Very cold and wet and windy here. The poor mechanic is outside working on the car. He looks frozen. Have taken him a cup of tea but still feel sorry for him. I am such a softy.

Chicken and bacon all ready to go in the oven veggies peeled and raspberry and coconut slice made all ready for our visitors at 6.
Very busy with ebay so hope things are really taking off there.

I understand the storm has hit Queensland. My family are in Perth which is a long way away but thoughts with those people affected.

Hugs for all the poorlies J
