I met a lovely musician at the bar on Sunday. Had never heard of him but he was rather good looking and nicely dressed. Didn't take too much notice of him as I encounter loads of these guys but when he got on stage (on his own, no band) I thought he must have escaped from the X-Factor or something. He was super talented and professional, singing some of his own songs as well as plenty of crowd-pleasing stuff.
I had to do a little Google/YouTube investigation. He is one quarter of a 4 piece group that I have heard of (I think they do the sort of Irish music best suited to entertaining tourists) but does lots on his own out of tourist-season. He travels to Irish bars around Europe and can put a band together for weddings or corporate functions.
I'm so impressed by his atitude. He doesn't strictly fit in with the Country/Irish scene at my friends venue but that didn't stop him from taking the gig when it was offered to him and doing such a good job that he got re-booked to come back with a band. I don't think he cares about being well known, he just wants to work full time as a musician and basically if the job involves music and is paid then he'll do it.
He arrived on his own so in my hostess role I introduced him to a few people but later realised I'd rather talk to him myselfOnly chatted to him for about 10 minutes BUT I had a text from bar owner on Monday saying the guy had told him I was lovely so that made me happy. :T
No idea what age he is, could be anything from 25-35. He lives in a city apartment but I didn't mention "Oh I live in the city too" Bar owner might have told him. Didn't see him again before leaving so nothing further to report but I was so flattered that he liked me and he was a nice distraction from Polish Painter.
I'll meet him again when he comes back to the bar in Oct or Nov. I'm not into relationships much these days anyway.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

Now if he wanted to go for coffee instead of PP I'd be much more enthusiastic. Must check that he drives :rotfl:Since PP this will be an important deal-breaker for all future men in my life.
The bar is a base for quite a few bands and I think this guy would be a lovely addition to our group of friends there. Everyone would like him, not just me. Plus he seems willing to help out, pull pints if required. The events at the venue are only still going because the staff don't get paid. Most of the money goes on paying the bands.
That's not as bad as it sounds. The "staff" are all friends/family and the place is pretty much "open house" to all of us if ever we need anything.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

It sounds like a lovely place. He sounds really nice too. Always nice to have someone 'on the horizon' as it were.....:DIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Painter texted a coffee invite. I declined because I'm "working late".
Had a phone call from toxic friend. Her mother MrsB is doing AMAZING. She went to a garden centre she likes today with MrB and had coffee and cake at the coffee shop there :T How fabulous is that having spent 5 hours in surgery only a week ago.
Toxic friend seems to be getting away without any inconvenience because her younger sister who finished her degree recently is unemployed and therefore available for cooking/cleaning/washing/shopping....Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
I've put the electric blanket back on my bed. I know it's only September but it's cozy and cheaper than turning the heating on.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000

€25 spent on getting the rain gutters cleaned this evening. Neighbour organised it. It was €20 per house but the guy was here for ages so I gave him a €5 tip. Would have cost more if he had come to do one house.
I also need €20 phone credit. I shouldn't have 2 phones really as almost everything is included in the iPhone bill package but I got a new number with it so I still use the old phone too. I hardly ever buy phone credit but I need some now.
My petrol is really low. Need to top that up by €30.
There's €23 outstanding on my refuse collection so I have to pay that tomorrow.
That's €100 and pretty much nothing to show for it. Money is just floating out of my account. I sometimes look at the old style board where people can live on £100 for the month and I just don't get how it's done.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000
