Thanks a million :A I know I need to take care of myself and I'm hoping next week might be a little easier. I've just gotten into bed with the laptop and I'm going to stay on here for a while and catch up with everyone.

Painter did make another appearance but only by text. "Hi, how are things? Am moved to city, not with landlady any more and never again. She wants me as her boyfriend, I said no and then she said better leave my house and I did. Feeling free now and enjoying life"

I copied that to my diary because it was sort of amusing. I also predict he'll be back by Christmas, he's not capable of being independent. The message was followed fairly quickly by a coffee invite which I managed to decline rather easily. If I don't have time for chatting to my lovely friends on here I definitely don't have time for meeting somebody I don't like for coffee. Plus he probably needed me for something like a lift to B+Q. I just said "can't go for coffee this week but if ever u are back in (where mother lives) call in and we can catch up then" He wasn't impressed and replied to say "forget it, I have no reason to be there" and thankfully I've heard nothing sense.
I had to cancel most of my visits to friends bar/music venue because of my mother not being well but I did get there for a few hours on the day the good looking musician I liked had been re-booked.

He has a longterm girlfriend (a real one, not like the "boyfriend" I made up to deter the painter) but that suits me fine because I'm not looking a for relationship--no energy left to devote to that.

He gave me an email address and we've been keeping in touch a bit. Nothing that his girlfriend needs to worry about but I have quite a few music and PR contacts, lots of information about venues, advertising and things like that which I've been sharing to help him along.
He's trying to get onto the Late Late show (biggest Irish chat/entertainment show) and his determination and motivation is inspiring me. He works full time in music, mostly for other people and would love to have his own big country music band but due to recession that's not an option just now.

I think he was happy to meet me too because the bar is used by lots of musicians as a base and I would know everybody who passes through so I'm quite a useful person to be friends with from his point of view. We did have coffee and a chat and I like him even more now :)

Debts still going downwards slowly, still have no money most of the time and my petrol expenses are rising by the week. Will try not to spend much on Christmas junk and refocus on money in January.
    I have £38.05 on onepoll

Toxic Friends mother MrsB is very well now after a really difficult time, she's driving again too, just short trips to the local town for now but she wasn't supposed to be able to until Christmas or after.

I'm still doing Curves but have stopped weighing myself. I will again but right now I'm keeping it up for the health benefits of exercise more than anything else. Only made it there once last week but hoping for 3 or 4 next week. It gives me something achievable to aim for.

Skinny puss is looking very healthy and I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up as obese puss :D I've not even fed him loads lately, I think he moves between a few houses which was exactly what I wanted for him.

    Hi Mags,

Very sorry to hear about your mum - I'm an only child as well so I know about being the only support sometimes.

    Hugs

Ditto the above. I can't imagine how hard it must be to shoulder everything on your own. Don't forget to take some time out for yourself and remember to look after yourself too.

It sure is difficult when something like this happens. I don't really know any only children who are our age, the ones I know are still children.

Mother seems ok today, she got out of the house for a bit. She's taking loads of herbal remedies instead of the valium. Don't know if they are helping or not but definitely worth trying. I've suggested counselling for her and she's quite agreeable to going for a few sessions. I think that might help, or maybe it would help me more than her, having someone else other than me listen to her problems and worries for a bit....

I did my Curves workout this evening and then I dropped in to Debenhams for the "beauty gala" event. Wasn't much in the mood but I was lured by the promise of a goody bag :o My goody bag was an Armani towel and some gift with purchase size perfumes from Marc Jacobs Lola and Daisy. Plus I won a prize from Benefit :T It has a full size Benefit perfume "Lee Lee" and some "erase paste" which is a concealer for under your eyes I think and a "bad gal" mascara in plum/purple. Must be worth €100 for the lot.

I feel really bad for saying this but I'm not even that excited about the prize. It's lovely and I'll use it but I have so many cosmetics already the novelty seems to have worn off.

Had to buy a €5 ticket to get a goody bag and raffle ticket. The ticket was redeemable against any purchase so I bought the cheapest, most MSE thing I could find which was 3 packs of cotton wool for €6.50.

Didn't put the heating on tonight :money:as I was out a bit late with Curves and Debenhams (where heating is free :))

Still quite a productive evening though Mags and at least it took your mind off things for a while.

I think counselling could help both you and your mum. Got to be worth a try?

I like the idea of a purple mascara - let us know what it's like.
