It has rained really heavily and non-stop for the last 2 days.

Really stressful drive to my mothers this evening, there was a 40 minute delay caused by roadworks along with very poor visibility due to the weather. Drove past a speed van too so fingers crossed that doesn't result in points/fine. I don't know what the speed limit was, it's normally 100 but it's reduced to 60 in lots of places for roadworks.

The weather isn't helping with my mothers situation, hence the reason I braved the Friday rush hour traffic to get home to her.

Off to bed with a hot water bottle. I need sleep.

Aaaah Mags. Things always feel far worse when the weather's bad :( Hope you escaped a speeding fine.

I'm a huge fan of hot water bottles. They are such a comfort :)

Had coffee and read the papers in a local coffee shop this morning, lovely but more expensive than my usual city places. Then I looked in the charity shop where I picked up a dark green nica handbag for €3. That brand costs about €60 in Debenhams so good find. Will use it for work next week.

Hoovered my car in the afternoon.

More health problems here tonight- my mothers ginger cat appears to have a bad eye infection. One of his eyes is very red and very sore looking. Vet required probably. Poor puss :(

No you're not :naughty: I've been making lists of potential items because I love the idea and according to the people on the blog everyone who does it becomes more stylish. I'm alternating about 5 coats at the moment and I'm pretty certain that if I counted up the things in my car I'd get close to 33 :o. No the car doesn't resemble a charity shop but I leave bracelets and sunglasses there, cardigans and scarves for changing weather....

My mother passed her medical today, only one more to go and that's tomorrow week, Dec 1st so hopefully she'll be able to go back to work soon.

I'm really busy this week. Pub owner friend is having a birthday party on Friday night, I'm organising some things for it and he's been on the phone a few times tonight. I've texted some bands who play there and asked people if they were out and about today could they send him a card :) Got some lovely replies back from people who were very happy send cards. It's actually very rare that I ask people to do things for me, usually I just get on with it and do it myself but I can't forge birthday cards :rotfl:although I do have a few spare blank ones in my bag in case I run into anyone who should send one (see I make things easy for people!)

I'm not working tomorrow but I have a hair appointment to get my roots done, a mystery shop at a phone shop and I need to go to curves and finish a photo display I'm making for the bar. It's 2 "picturepockets" from Amazon. They are huge, each one is the size of a door and displays 40 photos (or 80 if you use both sides) but I'm not doing them double sided as people who look at them in a pub aren't going to lift them off the wall to turn them over. There will be a 3rd one in time.

Problem with all of this is money, the hair appointment plus petrol = €100 :(

Toxic friend made me laugh today, she's looking forward to Christmas for the break. Her life is one long break, going for lunch, going for massages or other beauty treatments. She doesn't even have to do cooking, cleaning, washing.....

Rather annoyed with myself today for constantly writing on scraps of paper and the backs of envelopes. I have at least 10, probably more pretty notebooks and all expensive ones too (moleskine, paperblanks, paperchase) yet I write on scraps of paper :wall:

I think it's because I feel that pretty notebooks should be used as journals for writing about significant things rather than a place to write "to-do" lists, shopping lists and budgets. This needs to change. Might as well just use the notebooks instead of leaving them there.
