I like the idea of a purple mascara - let us know what it's like.

Strangest thing ever. When you open the tube it's a lovely wearable plum colour. BUT on my lashes it DOES NOT LOOK PURPLE, it just looks like any BLACK mascara. No I'm not colour blind and I asked a few people what colour mascara I was wearing and they said black.

Then when I took it off the cotton wool was a very bright shade of PURPLE. Maybe it needs primer or something under it but I didn't try that. So if you want to buy purple mascara get the girl at the counter to apply it for you so that first so you can confirm that it is actually the colour you want. I'd be really annoyed if I had paid for it expecting it to be purple.

I was in Cork on Saturday and there didn't seem to be much atmosphere around at all.
    !

Ya, that sounds about right, it's rather bleek, people don't seem to be spending that much. The shopping centres are busier-free parking.

How are you finding the budget??? It's very mixed. The USC is good and the fact the social isn't being cut as I'll be out of work come January. The car tax and the third level fees going up isn't good but it could be a lot worse. I've been watching it a bit but I'm hoping to find a simple summery of it tomorrow!

Not too sure, there's the €100 household charge, I think my car tax may have gone up a bit, my heating is gas which went up by a shocking 20% a little while ago. I'm not sure really, it appears to be single parents who are moaning most but I never have much money anyway and I can't see that changing :(

What a disappointment :o thanks for letting me know....

Let us know what you think of all those samples. I haven't heard of them either but always willing to try new stuff...in the name of research of course :D

Have only used them once, perfectly good but probably no better than the Boots brands (John Frieda/Lee Stafford/James Brown, etc)

Have found a beauty product I'm loving though :) The Lidl Madame Glamour perfume which is supposed to resemble Coco Madamoiselle. It was €3.49 so £2.99 for you guys probably. Has only been on sale in Ireland for a week and is reported to be sold out. I asked the manager for it and he told me he had some in the office, that it wasn't on display as people were shoplifting it  If you wanted to steal perfume wouldn't you go for the Dior or Lancome --as in something that's worth stealing. Don't really get why people would steal it but if you see some I recommend buying it.

I hate this weather, costs a fortune in heating and so uncomfortable in general.

I seem to have been sleeping loads lately, I've come home from work and gone straight to bed a few times in the last week. Sounds like depression but I don't feel particularly depressed, just tired.

Getting back into toluna for the Amazon vouchers. Not done it in ages.

You're not coming down with something are you? I have felt like this for a week now and am now coughing like a retired coal miner. I don't really feel ill with it though, just sound awful.

Might be a delayed reaction to all the upset with your mum and her medicals? It's got to come out somewhere....

I must admit I quite like going to bed early. Not to sleep, just to read and watch TV.

    Maybe, who knows  :(

Today was just annoying too. Had to attend a meeting at the community centre. I'm convinced it's the most pointless project ever. Nobody's in charge of anything there so nothing ever gets done. Only good thing about this is that I never leave with follow-up work.

I seem to have endless to-do lists and I'm not really getting through them.

Pub again on Saturday which reduces the time I have for working on the to-do lists.

Avon lady called earlier. I bought a face cream to put with my mothers Christmas present (Elizabeth Ardan perfume, a jumper from GAP and a Patrick Holford book so far). I don't need stuff from the Avon lady (or any other supplier of beauty products) but I like to support her :A and to thank me for my support she gave me a free full size perfume to thank me for my custom during the year.

Put €35 petrol in the car today, probably won't last more than a few days :(

Woke up to the sad news this morning of the passing of one of our music friends. Not entirely unexpected, he had been fighting cancer for some time, but very sad all the same. RIP J

I really want to attend the funeral, and I will but it's about 3 hours drive from where I am now so I'm going to be on the road for a lot of the weekend.

    • Paid 2 bills today (phone €40 and bin/recycling collection €52.25)
    • Got the Soap+Glory Christmas set for free with my Boots Advantage points :T saving myself €30.
    • Called in to the community centre again (must explain why these people are annoying me in a future post)
    • Earned 40p on onepoll
    • Received 2 rather nice necklaces from Oasis as an Xmas gift
    • Despite my best intentions I only made it to Curves once this week :( Bad weather/too many work appointments and Christmas traffic being so bad that I couldn't face the drive there
