Och I'm not sure what to say, guess you just have to go for the firm but polite no route.
Easy to say I know0 -
10am Another coffee invite was issued which I managed to politely decline (too busy at work)
7pm "I hope u will chenge ur mind about babys" (This was a follow-up from yesterdays anxiety causing conversation during which he asked how many children I want, I answered "none" not knowing that he would care so much about my lifestyle choices. I now know that the correct answer was 2 or 3)
I didn't reply because I just couldn't be bothered.
7.50pm "Im very sick flu cant even talk and eat" (I'm assuming the required response was for me to come straight round and offer to bring him to the doctor or hospital)
Instead I replied "Oh no, perhaps you should go home for a few days, you have been working very hard"
I didn't get another reply so either he's annoyed with my response or has run out of phone credit. (He buys a not very MSE €10 a day)
In other newsCheck out the very generous magazine freebies with Marie Claire (Ciate nail polish AND a tube of Dove hair conditioner) and Red (a full size shower gel from a brand called balance-me)
I bought Marie Claire with the purple nail polish but will most likely go back for Red another day.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

Don't worry
I'd probably find it funny too if he was someone else's problem and not mine

I've had another text asking if he can borrow money again? I'm not feeling the best today and can't deal with this.
I've replied to say I'm not home, that I left for boyfriends house straight after work, won't be back until tomorrow, can he ask his landlady to come and rescue him?
I hate lying and I'm feeling bad for leaving him without money but he has to stop being dependant on me plus it was incredibly irresponsible to send more money to Poland leaving him with none.
I'm really annoyed too that every time my phone beeps with a text my heart just sinks in case it's him again. I can't even recall feeling like that for years because I don't give people my number much. Well I do in a work/networking sense but that's never caused any problems.
Have to change my (not very important) plans for the evening now too, can't go anywhere near the local shopping centre (I wanted to go to Primark/Te$co), will have to drive somewhere else.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Mags, firstly Happy Birthday for the other day.
Re the painter right you need to realise that him buying/doing all the stuff and him wanting you to have babies is purely a cultural thing. My ex was Eastern European and he was the same. Just say something along the lines of 'I know that in your country you have to pay people back/buy things for the woman but its not like that for me/here so thank you but no, Im fine' He wont like it but he'll have to get it!!!! XXX
P.S Lula you're right there's plenty of men over here!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Just caught up!
Belated Birthday Greetings Mags :T
I love those shoes too! I would find it so hard to walk in them but they are so beautiful.
I'm enjoying the PP saga too. Don't you think that deep down there could be something in it?????It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

The painter saga got a little worse but I think it's sorted now.
On Saturday I had another text in which he was claiming to be hungry (cause he had no money and I didn't lend him any). The guilt I was feeling over this was unberable and there were more tearsThis time in the car in the shopping centre carpark. I phoned my musician friend to ask him what I should do and he gave me a lecture for having being stupid enough to lend him money in the first place and told me I had no reason to feel guilty about anything. Didn't help much
So I texted painter to say I had no spare cash but I could give him a lift home to West Cork so he could get some money (from under the mattress) :rotfl:
Told him I'd collect him @4pm. I was like 5 minutes late when I had another text "I ready and waiting for u"
On journey home he confirmed that he doesn't have a bank account and that he doesn't pay tax. He also doesn't claim dole or childrens allowance because he doesn't approve of all the form filling that's required here.
So I dropped him to his landladys door and didn't hear any more from him for the rest of the night :T
8.25 am Sunday:eek: " If u need money I lend you money, I like to visit ur mum and u" :wall:
I replied at 10 saying I'd just woken up, thanks so much but I don't need any money, I get paid next week and my mum and boyfriend help me if I need anything. I said he could call after 11 if he liked. (I had filled my mother in on all this and she said she'd chat to him if he called)
He didn't reply or call and I refused to make my morning trip to the shop for papers, etc alone in case I ran into him so my mother had to come with me.
On our way home from town we did run into him, he was walking towards town with an umbrella in really heavy rain so we had to turn car around and give him a lift to town. He had an appointment to meet the person he's working for to get paid. My mother commented on how we didn't know if he was calling or not because he hadn't replied to my text. He said he had run out of phone credit but would get some in town.
He did get paid and his landlady dropped him back to the city and I've only had minimal messages since. :A My mother thinks his landlady who seems to think she's in a relationship with him might be jealous of me and gave out to him/told him to keep away from me.
Or maybe he just realised I'm not as nice as he first thought :undecided
He should be finished the city job in the next day or two so I think it's over and we can just be friendly and polite if we meet on the road in West Cork on a Sunday.
I've not had reason to cry about the stress/inconvenience he's been causing since SaturdayTotal debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000
