Happy Birthday, Mags! Are you doing anything to celebrate?

Since there is a mini-painter, does this mean there is a Mrs Painter somewhere also, or is she an ex-Mrs Painter?

That sounds an awful lot for insurance.

    .

Thanks :A No celebration planned, I did buy myself some more shoes as a birthday present, they are from Matthew Williamson @ Debenhams reduced to €21.60 RRP €54 and my mother gave me €100 to do something nice with. Think I might use it for a trip to Dublin because my mother wants me to have a day out.

He's divorced from Mrs Painter and she lives in Poland in one of his houses with the child. They don't get on at all but he's in regular contact with her cause of the child who he loves very much.

The insurance is way too expensive but similar to last year. It's fully comprehensive and I have my mother included as a named driver. She sometimes uses the car at the weekends especially in winter because it's easier than getting her car out of the shed. Not sure if excluding her would reduce it much anyway but I'd rather not.

I've been told you need a full 5 yr no-claims bonus to get the best prices and I don't have that yet plus I think they charge more for city based cars, higher chance of break-ins/minor damage to car. I will try for a better price but not overly hopeful. Cost of living:mad:

    Online birthday party anyone? :)

    Happy Birthday

    :bdaycake:

Sorry it's a bit late Mags, been having connection issues all day . Hope you've enjoyed your day, however it suits you :D.

I guess 33 is just about old enough for PP to drive :rotfl:. I overlooked that he was your Mums neighbour - now understand why you're being friendly but keeping it on those terms only.

That's exactly why I'm being nice to him and have accepted his coffee invite for tomorrow. I don't want any lingering issues when I run into him on the way for the paper on a Sunday morning.

I was almost in tears after my coffee date with the painter. I can't cope with him at all. It was such an effort having to pretend to be interested in the conversation and it just aggravated my anxiety so badly.

He needed a lift to the post office to send money by western union to Poland. No problem, I honestly was very happy to help and activities, even boring ones like going to the post office are easier than chatting.

But he keeps needing to do things to thank me and I'm just not comfortable with that. I did let him pay for my coffee which is more than I even required in return but he offered to buy me petrol and to clean my car at the weekend :rotfl:

Can you imagine the stress of having to constantly explain that he really doesn't need to do any of those things :( He means well but I can't cope with his way of thinking at all, I mean wouldn't it be easier and more cost effective to get a taxi to the post office than to be doing all those things for me.
