Well I must say I'm really dissapointed about F/cellular going bust, I have just been trying to get a new contract deal with T mobile as thats who I went with to get a clawback, which I must say was excellent. However trying to get a decent deal with T mobile now is not so good, they offered me 200 x net for 17 pounds ( no pound icon on my comp ) & a basic upgrade phone. The last conversation I had with customer services I quoted deals I had seen either on web sites or in the columns here, she wanted to know where they were as she was on the net at the time, anyway the very best I was offered was 300 x net & 50 txts for 29 pound & a d500 I tried to beat her down to 25 pound to no avail. She has now left a note on the computer as to what has been offered. Can anyone give me any advice ? also are there any other companies with clawback deals out there ?0

Just come off the phone with a lovely lady from Singlepoint.
I did the usual explaining that 3 are doing a great deal and I might leave. She said she fully understands, and that whilst she wouldn't be able to offer me a deal as good as 3's, she'd have a go at a much better deal than I currently have.
She then checked through my account, to find out that my upgrade thing is on June 2. She said she couldn't do anything until next month, but would put a note on my account, and to phone back on april 2!

Walrus,
having scanned these forums for a few months now, you seem to be in the minority when it comes to saying something positive about Singlepoint. Well done on getting a good deal out of them....and then the window licker said to me...0 -
Martin, you are a legend!
I was on Orange paying £30+ a month for a package where I got 120 minutes to any network and unilimited landline/orange calls at weekends.
I used the "PAC line" as soon as my contract expired and said I was thinking of going to T Mobile. I had the internet open whilst I was on the phone to Orange who inquired:
"What are they offering?"
At the moment T-Mobile are doingsome outrageous offers such as 1/2 price line rental for 6/9 months so I quotes one of those at her (£9.50 per month).
She immediately said that Orange could not match it but they could give me 120 minutes per month + 25 texts and I could keep my weekend bundle for £20.
That's £120 saved, and it gets better....
....I'm also getting a snazzy Motorola 635 for free, which I have no intention of keeping. Instead I'll be selling that for £200.
To conclude:
I've gone from paying £360 per year for my mobile to paying £40 per year!0 -
Martin, thank you!
Although, what I've got from Orange may not be as good a deal as many others, I'm happy with the result that I've acheived by following your tips today.
I was on their 120 minutes and 60 text message talk plan and bundle and for the same price of £25 inclusive of VAT they are now giving me 180 minutes and 250 texts per month. I've upgraded my phone to a Nokia 7610 for £64.99. While not free, I still feel happy about the saving I've made with test messages and minutes. It's about time they gave this loyal customer of five years a reward!
Thanks again for your tips.

Dear Martin,
I've just found your site and thought I would test out your "blag" with Orange....tell them I've found a better deal quoting 3G.
OH MY GOD!!!!
My bill has just dropped from £443 (this month) to £50 (honestly, fifty pounds!!) next month (like for like comparison).
I am also getting 2 new phones (its a 2 phone account) one of which is the SPV2000 on Orange website at £249 (on contract) FREE!
Plus !!! (yes, there's more!)
I'm getting £95 credit for this month!
I reckon you have saved me somewhere in the region of £4,965 over the next 12 months.....and all it took was 5 minutes!
Martin, many many thanks and be sure I will be reading all about the credit cards next!0 -
Walrus: Singlepoint will be no more as of 1st April as Vodafone have acquired them. Hope you get your upgrade/new deal anyway.Never knowingly overpaid.0

I've just managed to get my mobile contract down from about £30 a month for 200 x network mins anytime with 50 texts (on O2) to 200 mins and 500 texts for £15 a month, with a free Nokia 6230, just by telling them I would leave to go to Vodafone who were offering that deal (they weren't!!)
Also, I dont have to mess about claiming cashbacks etc, its just a straight £15 a month! Beat that if you can!!0 -

I'm hoping I can use that as a bargaining tool!!!
I'll update when I get a result.
BTW anybody suggest the lowest tarif at teh moment (e.g. cheapest/most minutes)?0 -
I have been on the O2 100 contract for almost a year. I'm interested in trying to improve my current deal; however, I bought my phone from the Carphone Warehouse. Although my service provider is O2 I am billed by the CPW. When trying to arrange any new deal who exactly would I need to persuade in this situation? O2, CPW or both?
Any suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.0
