Funky parrot,
if you are out of contract then go for your PAC code via the 0800 number earlier in this thread. Customer Retentions Team have the ability to offer the 3 tariff. This should get you 500 Xnet mins + a min of 30 texts for £25....and then the window licker said to me...0 -
Hi guys,
need some help......... i've been with t-mobile for ages (i mean when they were still one2one)..... anyway, rang up 'cust mngt team' and they offered me £4.99 a month for my "£20 a month FREETIME contract (historical contract - can't get um nowadays).....
Anyway, she didn't offer me a phone and to top it off it was for an 18month contract. Checked my online bill ......... I paid um almost 4 grand over 5 years...
Problem is I've just got back from 1 year backpacking so haven't used my mobile.....
Can anyone help me on what to say to get a phone aswell...... if i utter the 3 letter word PAC........they may drop me.....

Hi
As per my last message, Orange have offered me the following to stay with them:-
400 mins cross network, anytime
30 texts a month free
any phone free
for £30 a month.
As advised I did try phoning the 0800 number and spoke to the customer retention people who offered me my PUC code without any resistance whatsoever.
Should I stick with the offer I have been made or go elsewhere?

funkyparrot,
ask for your PAC code. It means nothing if you don't use it as it will expire a month later but it may focus Orange's mind a little more on trying to retain you. If it doesn't then go for the deal you've already been offered....and then the window licker said to me...0 -
hi,
I called the 0800 number last night ans was first offered:
Samsung E800
500 Xnet mins
30 texts (+an extra 30 for the first 3 months)
for £25/month
I then said that I wanted the Samsung D500, but the best they could offer was:
400 Xnet mins
30 Texts
£30/month
So I took the D500 package because the phone is much better and its the one I wanted.
funky parrot - it seems this is their standard offer at the moment if you want any phone.
I am happy with this deal though and can't wait for my phone to arrive!0 -
My son has an O2 a/c in my name. It was an online 300 which was basically 300 off peak mins + 500 txts for £20 per month as he uses loads of txts. Anyway he'd started using the phone at peak times occasionally & was getting stung. Upgrade wasn't due til next month but using the advice on this thread for his £20 per month he now has 100 anytime xnet minutes + 500 txts and has managed to get a SE S700i out of them for nothing as the upgrade. They initially asked for £200 for the upgrade but I mentioned 3 and they then brought it down to the new business price on the website of £79-99 and then when pushed got it as a freebie. Phones just arrived so it's exactly a month early!
The phone normally retails sim free at between £350 and £400 so he's well chuffed:D0 -
big thanks to martin, my contract runs out on 10 march but decided to call today to chance my luck on an improved deal.
spoke to peter in the disconnections dept who was refreshingly up front and honest about everything i queried. i told him i was considering the three network deal 500 xnet mins at £25/month (i'm currently on o2 ovp 400 xnet mins/50 txts at £45/month). he said he could match that and also give me 60 txts instead of 50 txts a month as well. i obviously said yes which is when he then said, without me saying anything "would you also like a new phone". he then offered me the nokia 6230. i did try for the samsung d500 but was told there is a backlog and also that they have had a lot of returns of them as well. incidently i also asked about the new nokia 6630 3g phone, which i was told orange have stopped offering due to continued problems with them.
i am now awaiting my new 6230 phone to arrive next tues/wed and my new deal kicks in on 10 march. i have taken peter's full name and an e-mail address to write in and praise him, as i feel he is due some credit for his honesty and for not using excuses or try and fob me off with a worse deal. all in all a good days work.0 -
Ok fella's - I need you to work some magic on me:
I've been with Vodafone for about 4 years now (600 off peak, own network minutes & 300 SMS for £20 per month) and am due an upgrade.
I use my minutes pretty wisely, so my bill never goes above £25 a month, plus my girlfriend and most of my friends are on vodafone - hence the cheap bill, and hence why I'd rather not leave them.
Anyway, I'm after a Nokia 6230, but they want £120 off me!?!?! They just won't budge on the price!!!! I've called up twice, been transferred all over the show, had offers for someone from a "special team" to call me back (never happened, by the way), I've even had my PAC code sent.
The last Muppet I spoke to said that due to the 'pricing matrix' they have at the moment, they can't offer me a lower price on the phone, however, he said that come March 1st, they are basing decisions on length of contract, etc.... Anyone know if there's any truth in this? Anyone know what I can do? I really don't want to leave voda, but feel backed into a corner - actually, with the none returned phone calls, etc, maybe I am tempted to leave them....Advice please!!!0 -
Tuesday 1st March - it's not a long wait0

If you want to stay with Vodaphone, why not take out another contract with them. I'm sure they chuck in a 6230 for free with some of their pay monthly tariffs. If you wanted to keep your old number then you could house it on a PAYG sim from another network before porting it back to Voda....and then the window licker said to me...0
