    Its not my day.

I am with CWP for 2 years on Vodaphone on 200Xnet for £30/month. Last year had a great deal on upgrade.
Tried this time and went through loyalty dept, mentioned 3 network deal, and was asked do I want new phone or minutes, I said that minutes but he did not offer me anything and said that could not match 3. I was not pushing him... just was interapted two times during conversation. He gave me PAC number within 3 min, without offering anything. I did not push at all. Was not offered anything and even did not say what package on 3 want to match. Only after saying to him '3' he has lost his interest in me. Staited that network is not stable but that's all.
Now I have PAC number and was not given any choice... :( >:(

Does CWP has any kind of restrictions not to match 3 network??? Any advise is good. Thank you.

  • Had a great day at work today making people happy!

First up was a guy who is on Orange and averages a monthly spend of £100-130. He was out of contract. I phoned Orange CRT on 0800 079 2288 pretending to be him armed with all the relevant info. He looked at "my" spend profile and came up with his first offer. I told him my calling Xnet was likely to increase in the coming months. I plumped for 500 Xnet with 120 texts (+30 extra for 3 months) for £25/month and a bolt on of 120 texts for £8/month. So in total £33/month for 500 Xnet anytime mins + 240 texts. And a free Samsung D500 phone.

Next was a guy on Tmobile with an £80/month spend. He was still in contract so had little leverage. But 200 Xnet mins and 200 texts for £39 should see his monthly spend tumble. And another Samsung D500 for free if he decides to stay with Tmobile. I think my advice to him will be look elsewhere when out of contract.

Finally was a girl out of contract on Orange with a £60-70/month spend. She had to do the talking for herself from a script I had prepared. But an offer of 500 Xnet anytime mins + 30 texts (+30 extra for 3 months) for £25/month with a Nokia 6230 free was a good start. I told her to ask for her PAC and sit tight to get 120 texts like the guy earlier. The PAC duly arrived by sms and the waiting begins... :D

Not a bad day's work and more free drinks than anyone could drink ;)
...and then the window licker said to me...
  • Hi all,

Just been on the phone with Orange about trying to grab a few more minutes and text a month etc. and the lovely lady on the phone said that as i was a contract memeber of outstanding payment details over the last 9 years i could get all the "oppositions" best deals around and when i ring in with the info they will match the one that i want but at a better price !!!!

Not sure if they will do that but i will scan the papers / net for deals and let you know the outcome after tonights escapade !!!

  • HI all,

I've been following this thread for a while waiting for my orange phone to come out of contract. I currently had 200 x-net mins and 50 texts for £30 a month but wanted to try and get the 500min for £25 deal. I phoned up a few weeks out of my 12 month contract and said to the person that answered that I wanted to have the '3' tariff. The lad knew the score and said 'to get that plan sir I would have to put you through to our 'disconnections department and you would have to be threatening to leave!' I said 'I threaten to leave then :-)' they then put me though and straight forward enough they gave me the tariff. I asked about a phone up grade and they asked what I wanted. I want a Nokia as they ARE the best... not much on offer though and the only one of any interest was out of stock. I asked what would happen if I wanted that one and I was told they would raise the order and they would call when stock comes in (I could also chose whether I still wanted that phone or another one). I said fine, er what about text messages are there any in that tarrif. No sir but you can have 30 a month for 3 months. I tried fighting and getting at least the 30 permanently but they weren't shifting. So I left it with a note on the system saying I can have the '3' equiv tariff and someone will call me when the phone is in stock. My plan is to fight and get 120 txts a month when they ring back. I have actually been with orange for a LONG time (had the first orange suitcase that came out!) but I've always found it cheaper to start a new contract every 12 months and get some freebies... until now...

I was wondering how many texts have different people been given?

Who has had 30 for 3 months?
    30 permanently?
    120 permanently?

    Thanks

    Simon

  • Just got off the phone with orange via the 0800 (press 3) number. Not as lucy as some people though, wondered where i went wrong. I was polite and everything

Anyways they offered me 50mins and 50 txt for £19per month. Not the greatest deal i know. Or for £25 i could get 100 mins and 100 txts, still not a "wow" momen. I have two numbers on my accont, my sisters, which somehow i pay for! The YP120 £15per moth tarriff, and mine which i downgraded to the OVP Virgin tariff after having been on 60mins xnet contract.

The guy said i couldnt be offered the 120mins and 30txt deal as it was a "special promo" and not open to me as i was on the Virgitariff, which seems daft to me, beacause i thought it was a regular talkplan. I would have wanted the YP120 plan, plus 30txt with a free k700 or C500s. Connsidering the other number on my account is due for upgrade thought they would budge.

Joint bills are coming to £40ish on average now so i figured that its about time i got a decent deal.

Also took ages to get through, anyone had any other recent dealings with orange lately? Or is it better to go into an orange shop.

Husband's phone is out of contract with Orange now. So following Martin's example I contacted them today and said I wasn't happy etc. He currently has 200 mins anytime/any network plus texts for £30 per month and he doesn't use all the minutes. They offered 120 mins and 30 texts for £20 but I said not happy with that. Offered another deal and I said doesn't sound much of a bargain to me. Then I asked for code to be sent so we could look elsewhere (holding breath cos o/h likes Orange!) and he said he hadn't finished offering me terms etc. yet. To cut a long story short we eventually got 180 mins, 30 text for £15 for 18 months but contract only for 12 months. We also had to have a new phone - . So he has Sony Ericsson k700i (I think  can't remember) arriving within next three/four days. It's got FM radio and MP3 player on.

Thanks Martin - another deal done and dusted;) .
  • Hi,

I have been following this thread for a while now and my contract with Orange is up soon and I have a couple of questions.

If I request my PAC will I be automatically disconnected? (Or can I request it as a threat but not actually be disconnected)

Also I have been on my step-dad's contract for about 4 years (spending around £45-£50 a month) and I want to start one under my own name. Do you think these past payments will count for me or will they be his because its under his name?
I will probably find out when I ring but I want to be prepared and know my rights.
He has about 3 phones under his name, so hopefully they will recognise that the phone was mine and the spending will count for me.
Plus he has been with Orange for a number of years paying £150 a month for all the phones, so he will be a valued customer.

Anyway, I am calling tomorrow and will let you know how I get on. I am hoping for: New Samsung D500 (free), 500 X-network mins, 100 texts for £30 a month.
I know its ambitious but hopefully they will offer me something close.

    Cheers
  • Hi,

I have phoned Orange and explained that I am looking to move over to the Three network because their prices are better. The lady said that they do not offer any of the Three deals.
I have been offered the following however :-

    400 mins cross network, anytime
    30 texts a month free
    any phone free
    for £30 a month.

Has anyone dealt with Orange recently? Do you think if I press I can get a better deal that this? (my current spend is about £45 a month)

    Cheers
