Engine Blown What to do??

1234568»

Comments

  • Cost is coming to £450 - turns out the engine mate failed due to 1 bolt being too short, and 2 snapped.
  • Just too elaborate if people want to know:

    Car needed the below:

    3 Bolts
    2 Sprockets
    1 Engine Mount
    Timing Belt Kit
    Alternator Belt
    Labour

Reason for problem - 1 of the Bolts for the engine mount was too short, 1 bolt snapped and the other one is missing. Missing bolt may or may not have been present.

Glad the damage isn't too bad. Sounds like the wrong bolts were used and the single correct one was either overtorqued or overloaded (or both).

This is why I do most of the maintenance on my cars myself, if I lose a bolt I won't replace it with any old thing that sort of fits.
