Ratting on benefit cheats

!!!!!!? If someone openly declares they have done something, why shouldn't they be reported? let's cut out the middle man, if they came to your door and asked you for £100 for this week's benefits, would you give it to them? When your community centre or library closes down, when your job at the council goes, when your council tax bill rises, when your taxes rise, are you going to not moan but feel it is ok because at least all those scroungers are still cheating the system and getting away with it.

It's called context, dear. Not irrelevance.
On a thread about benefits it is irrelevant. As I have already said, the behaviour of our MP's, the conduct of the Royal Family etc, have no bearing on benefit fraud. One cannot suggest that because one is perhaps more prevalent than the other, that it should be ignored.krisskross wrote: »And this post was thanked by another two idiots.
Frightening, isn't it?holidaysforme wrote: »[Hope you feel better after your little rant
I do, thank you for caring.holidaysforme wrote: »I'm glad you're sick and tired of people like me reminding you of the facts. Sorry it's a bit inconvenient and gets in the way of a good Daily Mail headline;)
What facts are they? That benefit fraud is OK because there are worse frauds being perpetrated?
Ah, the Daily Mail dig. It had to happen. Please don't judge me by your standards, sweetheart. The fact that I happen to read the second biggest selling newspaper in the UK is neither here nor there. I am still quite capable of making up my own mind on important issues and I am well aware of the flaws in the Mail.
Tell me, what do you read? The Independent? The Times, perhaps? Or is it the FT?holidaysforme wrote: »I have never claimed a benefit in my life ,- have always worked as has my husband.
Between us we are doing ok,- not wealthy by any means but not struggling either.
I consider us lucky. I am very happy for my taxes to go towards helping those who are less fortunate than me. Me and my family might need the system ourselves one day!
They're will always be people who cheat the system, but i am less concerned with people claiming a piddling fee pounds a week in order to top up a stupidly low income, than those who squander our national wealth with impunity and laugh in our faces while they do it.
The bankers and the corporate tax evaders are the biggest criminals in our society. The sad thing is that people like you are too limited or stupid to see it!
I am neither limited, nor stupid. It is you that have accused those that report benefit cheats as spiteful, nasty and malicious. It is you that has called other people's posts stupid.
To put benefit fraud into context, would you have the same attitude if your neighbour, or a bloke from three streets down, came into your house once a week, took £20 out of your purse and walked away? Of course you wouldn't. You'd be on here, bleating and whining. That is what benefit fraud is. Taking from the tax payer to line your pockets. The bankers and the MP's and the Royal Family, in the context of this thread, is irrelevant. The OP asked if they should report someone she suspected of benefit fraud and any decent, law abiding, sensible human being would say YES. Report it and let the DWP ascertain the facts.Better then being judgemental, unintelligent, spiteful and narrow minded.
Maybe. Your point being? Also with regards to 'civic responsibility' we don't live in the fifties any more, (sorry i meant I don't you can pretend to live where you like if it makes you happy) and neither does this Government. Maybe when you join us in this decade you'll get some perspective.
What has the decade got to do with anything? Are you suggesting there is no civic pride or responsibility anymore? If so, that is bloody sad.
Frankly, the last couple of days has demonstrated to me that it is currently silly season on MSE. When people thank a post that likens people that report benefit cheats to !!!!!philes and gets thanked for it, when people cannot see that the fact there are worse crimes than benefit fraud does not make it less important, on a thread specifically asking about reporting a potential fraud, then I despair. I really do.
You lot carry on talking nonsense and thanking each other for it. I have made my feelings quite clear. There is no debate to be had here.0 -
holidaysforme wrote: »Very interesting. Wonder if the OP, who is so convinced of this person's guilt, would still report him/her if she knew her own details could be made available at some point.
I think not;)
holidaysforme, your posts are very strange. It's like you think benefits fraud is ok. Is there something you want to tell us?0 -

I don't need to have all the facts before I shop someone in.
I just need a suspicion.
Its not my responsibilty to gather the facts.
Its not my responsibilty to ensure a claimant is genuine.
Its not my responsibilty to ensure a claiment is not abusing the system.
Its the responsbilty of the DWP.
Someone who has claimed benefits has ASKED for state intervention.
They have said :
I cant pay my rent/mortgage or have no/little income or have an illness that prohibits me working.
Can the state please intervene and pay this.
Benefit claiments have asked for state intervention.
They cannot complain when they start asking questions.

Your caring side is all too evident my friend. My husband was sectioned due to his mental health taking a nose dive when he was told we were under suspicion of benefit fraud; he developed severe psychosis and though now home he is a mere shadow of himself, medicated to the eyeballs and unable to take any part in family life. You could be responsible for that. How can you sleep at night?I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

People who grass others up are the lowest of the low.
I rate them alongside pdophiles and police officers.
I take it you are a convicted criminal? Or just mentally unstable? To liken a police officer to a !!!!!phile is disgusting. That being most decent police officers. If you were being attacked or someone burgled your house, bet you'd call the Police. yeah, very handy then aren't they.
Fortunately people like you are in the minority. There should be an IQ test for registering on this website.0 -

How about the royal wedding. Now who can i report the Royal family to:j ,- biggest bunch of scroungers and !!!!!!!!!!s that ever lived:mad:
I do have some issues with the Royals too but to me, in the end, it comes down to a business decision. They generate more money than they cost so I am happy to have a royal family.
I think this country would be a poorer place without them.0
