KKsweety - if your wiifit step is 2.11 inch high and our virtual everest is 11328foot high (or in other words 135,936inches high) then you would need to climb onto your board a total of 64,424 times - or if you spread that out over 20 days it equals 3221 per day.0

hey,
can i take part in the challenge using my wii fit board as I have no steps at home or at work?! It's 2.11 inches high so I figure over 20 days I need to do 5000 steps a day?! Hope my maths is right!
I think it may be a bit more than that. I've got it as 11328 (total height) / 20 (days) = 566.4 (how many feet you need to climb in a day).
Then 566.4 x 12 (to turn it from ft to ") = 6796.8 (total inches to climb per day). Then 6796.8 / 2.11 (steps) = 3221.23. So you need to do 3221 steps per day over 20 days.
But, the wii fit counts all steps (on and off), so you will need to do twice that, as 'down' steps don't count. So you'll have to do 6442.46 steps a day.0 -
Hi everyone - my Everest update is I am still stuck at base camp... I've been knocked sideways by medication side effects. Once I'm back on my feet, and not lurching about like I've had several too many, I'll be marching up and down the stairs. I decided I am going to use the bottom step lots of times (counting how many flights of stairs the number makes up) and then the final flight will be back up and sit down! Hope that made sense...0

But when you step onto the wii fit, you're not really going down, until you get back off, so technically it would still be 3221 steps onto the wii fit per day.
Anyway, 189.6ft done today. My right calf is proper sore from yesterday.0 -
A crazy idea just popped into my head - no idea if it's practical or not! If you are doing bicep curls or something with weights, how about adding up the weights of each curl/lift and aiming to lift something really heavy like.... a plane, whale, sumo wrestler?
Lol, I have no idea how much any of those things weigh, but if we can find something of a challenging (yet achieveable) weight then we may have found an alternative to the Everest challenge?
great idea, i lift 12,000 kgs in each session

:mad:Ugh, HOW have I managed to put ON 2lb!!!
Very annoyed now. Food has not been that bad!!
Have had a few tiny slips but my calories are within the normal limit every day.
Oh well, off to tackle everest again!
I can do 1500 in just under half an hour, so I'm planning on doing that most mornings and then follow it with some floor exercises like the plank, sit ups and press ups.
will have to remember to keep up Davina on the days when i'm not stepping.
does anyone mind if I keep a food diary on here? I am worried that after SW my eating habits are out of control and that's why i'm not losing weight.
Today's food looks like this:
Banana, two satsumas and a cup of herbal tea
40g honey nut shredded wheat with 100ml skim (might have to be semi, think the skim's gone off:()
Cuppa tea with milk
lunch will be chilli couscous (1/2 a pkt, Ainsley) with leftover roast chicken (no skin or fat) and salad
prob also have a couple of squares of dark choc (green n blacks) and another tea with milk
dinner - OH wants pizza so I bought one to share rather than having 1 each (and much more MSE and CSE - calorie saving expert- than pizza hut!!) and I'm making HM potato wedges with fry light and a salad to go with it so hopefully the damage wont be too bad.
How does that look? I always start the day putting the food into food focus to check the cals but then it gets so long winded that I give up....
a lot of carbs there, i would have dropped the couscous and eaten the skin and healthy chicken fat0 -
ironically i have been up and down the stairs at work 11 times today, at 50 steps a go :j0

Hi all. I disappear for two weeks and mad march is upon us!! Like the everest challenge but it's not for me this time.
Went to Spain for half term and ate many biscuits etc so a modest 3lbs holiday gain for me which I am pleased about. Should be off by next week, I hope.0 -

Aww, what a shame. How long are the side effects expected to last?Princess_x wrote: »But when you step onto the wii fit, you're not really going down, until you get back off, so technically it would still be 3221 steps onto the wii fit per day.

Your right, it is still 3221 steps onto the wii fit. I meant that if you are using the wii to count your steps then you have to double it as 3221 is total steps, not steps up - so if the wii told you you had done 3221 steps, you would have only 'climbed' half that - 1610 steps.Eric_Pisch wrote: »great idea, i lift 12,000 kgs in each session

WOW  That's a lotta weight to lift!
Well, the A380 has a maximum take-off weight of 560 tonnes!
There are a few weights for it on this site (I was hoping to find 'the plane weighs X' but I found 6 different weights - too complicated for my liking!)...
