Fred - how are we logging our progress? If we all keep updating on here won't it get a bit admin-heavy for you???

Was wondering if we should mention it on here as we go (nice to encourage each other and keep an eye on the competition!;)) but perhaps we should keep a running total at home and give you our week's total progress on weds with our weigh in (or something similarly organised) just so it's easier for you to update the new chart.... up to u tho hun :)

It's not too bad if people want to declare what they've done on a daily basis or whenever. I may not post a chart daily but will do one every few days.

What I don't want to happen is a repeat of events a few years ago when lots of people started doing exercise and 99% of the posts were about it which is great but there were a number of people who were not able to do the exercise so they felt they couldn't come into the thread and lost the support the thread gives.

Feeling a little bit out of things with this everest challange.
Sorry beanie, it wasn't meant to make anyone feel sidelined. Is there anything you can do as an equivalent to join in if you want?

Perhaps Beanie, we should do a challenge for our arms? ha!! Seeing as my bottom half is out of action and yours probably is too :)

Well done on your 1lb loss!!

Good idea, or Eric is walking up hill on his treadmill - is there a slope anywhere that you could walk up instead of stairs?

Fred - Not sure how you are going to manage all this extra work you have with this challenge but today I have done 32 trips up my home stairs and 10 trips on the stairs at work (think I may of done a couple more but had a few stressed moments @ work so can't remember if I ticked them off or not  so don't want to cheat)

It's a case of being organised :) everything is ready all I have to do is drop the figures in the right box. ;)

    Hi Everyone,

Well I'm finished for the night. I've been getting on with a bit of work and I'm quite tired now so extra climbing has gone out of the window! I'm declaring 76 climbs at 100", which makes it 641.66 ft (I think?).

Yep I agree with Fred, this climbing thing is only meant to be a sideline - maybe it should be on it's own thread???
Sorry Beanie (and Vix) if you feel a bit left out :-( What sort of exercise can you do - are you a swimmer? maybe the next event could be a virtual swim Dover - Calais? or can we work out a way of competing in virtual thumb wrestling?! or sit ups?

I finished the day on 91 flights of stairs. It wont be as many as that every day but will keep pushing.

food diary today = Beans on Toast, cottage cheese salad, moroccan vegetables, chicken tikka salad, quorn lasagne

Hi popculture  Are you controlling your eating as well? When you say you want "fast results" well how fast is fast?
Good luck at the gym, I joined one too this week. If like me you're just starting out then please don't overdo it: else you might end up in so much pain that it could put you out of action for a week... and then you wouldn't be burning much at all :-/

Well I have went up and down my step 656 times. So believe that will be 328 feet. Aiming to do 1000 steps so 500 feet for next 22 days so that I will complete my challenge before go away on 24th. Want to spread it out as this will be in addition to going to gym and fitness classes

:mad:Ugh, HOW have I managed to put ON 2lb!!!

Very annoyed now. Food has not been that bad!!
Have had a few tiny slips but my calories are within the normal limit every day.

Oh well, off to tackle everest again!
I can do 1500 in just under half an hour, so I'm planning on doing that most mornings and then follow it with some floor exercises like the plank, sit ups and press ups.

will have to remember to keep up Davina on the days when i'm not stepping.

does anyone mind if I keep a food diary on here? I am worried that after SW my eating habits are out of control and that's why i'm not losing weight.

    Today's food looks like this:
Banana, two satsumas and a cup of herbal tea
40g honey nut shredded wheat with 100ml skim (might have to be semi, think the skim's gone off:()
    Cuppa tea with milk

lunch will be chilli couscous (1/2 a pkt, Ainsley) with leftover roast chicken (no skin or fat) and salad
prob also have a couple of squares of dark choc (green n blacks) and another tea with milk

dinner - OH wants pizza so I bought one to share rather than having 1 each (and much more MSE and CSE - calorie saving expert ;)- than pizza hut!!) and I'm making HM potato wedges with fry light and a salad to go with it so hopefully the damage wont be too bad.

How does that look? I always start the day putting the food into food focus to check the cals but then it gets so long winded that I give up....
