Are you joining the diet team challenge too?

Thank you for working out my steps. Yes joining challenge please. I am going to follow my own diet. Calorie counting and getting my butt to gym. Will need to get my steps in before 24th March as going to New York on holiday.

Just in case anybody recorded the program last night and hasnt played it back yet... SPOILER:Wil won, he started out at 24stone 7 and dropped to 16 stone in 21 weeks - i think it worked out something like 34%.A very good loss but he wouldnt have stood much of a chance of winning with that %age on the US series
The UK version just doesnt seem to have the wow factor that they have on the other shows. The trainers dont seem harsh enough - i dont know whether thats because the producers are scared of upsetting the contestants - or whether the producers wanted harsh trainers but just got the wrong people for the job. I think Angie pretended to be the tough one, but lets face it shes a trainer, not an actress!!

    Hi Everyone,

Well I'm feeling OK today so have started the challenge - 15 climbs of the stairs so far, although I always run around like a headless chicken in the morning trying to get DS ready, so that isn't a suprise. The next 30 or so climbs may be a little more challenging!

Well I was amazed by the BL final last night! It is the first series that I have watched all the way through so I can't compare it to other series, I'd be quite interested to watch the US version though if BL UK doesn't give big results! Paddy and Wil looked AMAZING, the biggest change was in Sarah though - I didn't recognise her at all!

I agree about biggest loser, i do prefer the american version, i think bob and jillian are a lot more forceful when it comes to pushing them. I also like the australian 1. havent been able to watch any of the new series tho as i only have freeview now. I wanted to apply for the uk version, but the application was for couples so i had noone to go with.
I have just measured my steps again and each step in 7 inches so 14 is 98inch/ 8 ft 2. So how many steps do i need to do to complete the trek?
Done 4 so far today. and are we just counting going up as 1 or up and down as 1?

  • I have about 1 stone to loose, or maybe a little more.

I am going to my first WW meeting tonight, and would like to join the Everest step challenge. I work though so am not sure how practical it will be. I guess I will have to measure the stairs at home and at work :)

What do I need to do? I guess the first 'step' is to measure my stairs, and the stairs at work.

I think it will be a STS for me this week, unless it's something different tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to a stretch-and-tone class in the local WI hall. Then today I've re-started my one-to-one swimming lessons. My swimming teacher was surprised because I haven't been for a few weeks because of shingles. He thought I would be 'back to square one' and would have lost confidence, but I haven't. Also, he noticed that I've lost weight 'if you don't mind me saying so'. I said 'oh no, I don't mind anyone saying so!'

    Hi Princess Jelly,

Welcome to the group. If you let fred know the measurements for both sets of stairs then you just need to keep track of how many times you climb each set and let us know at the end of each day. There are a few members who are climbing both work and home stairs, it probably makes it a little more confusing but shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Let us know how you go on at WW tonight. Have you been to group classes before, or is this your very first time?

    ditto!!
trying to find somebody else that was under 50 years old AND considerably overweight AND able to take 2 months off work was nigh on impossible!

:naughty: stepping down doesnt count at all sorry :p
Altogether you need to do 11328' of climbing so if your stairs are 8'2 then thats a total of 1374 times that you would need to go up them in total.
...ahem... so what are you still sitting at your computer for? come on girl get moving!!!
    :D
