Reporting a 1.5lb loss. Not as much as I wanted, but it's purely my fault, as my eating wasn't so good as past weeks, so gonna go back to proper strict eating again. TurboFire again today, can't wait to sweat.

Also, RE: the stair challenge, I practised a bit yesterday and did it 5 times, so up 5 times, down 5 times (obviously the down part doesn't count), and my legs & butt were already sore from before, and I have to say that it definately works you out. I think to save my parents from going mad, I might just use the bottom steps, either the first one or first two, as it's a pain having to go downstairs again and annoying everyone lol.

EDIT: According to that dukan diet site, 61kg is meant to be my true weight lol, which doesn't seem likely. I mean I'm definately big boned, so a size 8 wouldn't be realistic as I'd most likely look odd, but even though I'm big boned, I still have a load of fat on my thighs and some still on my stomach and my arms are not toned enough, so 1 stone of fat doesn't seem enough, whereas 2 stones does. I guess Im just gonna have to see when I get to 61kg.

    hey,

I would like to report a 3lb loss for last week despite having moved house and eaten everything in sight including a box of millionaries shortbread :-( I'm rather dissapointed in myself but so pleased about the loss!

Fred - the stairs I am using are 7 foot 7 or 91". Managing to get myself psyched up about the challenge now, but 1 flight is often a challenge so I think I am definitely in line for aching muscles lol.

Well I certainly didnt 'climb' everest however I did really climb a HUGE hill when we took the dog out (it felt more like a mountain!) - looked online and its 900ft so at least I should have burned off a few calories there :) - seriously a ridiculous hill though its near vertical at one point and no proper path, and it was muddy too so I kept sliding everywhere....

Off to do day 2 of the 30 day shred (not doing it at W/E :p)

Will have a quick weigh-in later on....

Bettyb, when there's a will there's a way! If you get a piece of card mark the distance between the step at it's lowest and highest you'll know how high your 'steps' are, then all you need to do is multiply the number of steps recorded by that many inches

    Ok good plan sgtg thanks!

    I'm in fred!! :D

Please can someone check my maths here???

The space between the flat of your foot at the step's lowest point and at the highest point is 6 inches.

But my stepper counts 2 steps (left up right down, right up left down) as 1 - The count goes up only when the left foot goes down not the right.

So one ‘step’ on the counter is two actual stepping motions, which is 12 inches, or 1 foot.

So, say I did 2000 ‘steps’ (according to the step counter) in 1 session I’d have climbed 2000 feet.

    Is that right??

So, to get to the top of Everest I have to do 11,328 feet, or 11,328 ‘steps’

Hi Betty - your maths look ok to me

Charlie - that sounds more like a mountain than a hill to me... and did you keep throwing the dogs ball back down the slope so he had to keep fetching it back up for added canine exercise? One of my dogs just never seems to tire out no matter how much exercise she gets.

Hi Matryoshka - i agree, Suggs' story is amazing isn't it!
    ---
I've been to the gym today for the first time since 1993.
And so by that calculation I expect my next visit to probably be in 2029
(but there is just a slim chance that it might be brought forward a little... maybe wednesday morning's a possibility!)

Well I can confirm that day 2 of the shred didnt get any easier, although I did manage to actually do something that resembled a press up.....

Think my handweights may be a little too heavy for me - was somewhat over optimistic as to what I should start with, think Ive now trapped a nerve in my hand..DOH!

Did weigh myself but to be honest not entirely sure its very accurate as it reckons Ive gained 3lbs in 3 days (after apparently loosing 7lbs in about 20 days) but hey-ho - Ill split the difference and call myself 10.5, realistically I need to be around 9.5 so a stone to loose but generally need to tone up a lot too

Haha yep - I would call it a mini mountain but is actual name is 'Gray Hill' lol... No ball for doggie, shes a 12yr old springer with a slightly dodgy leg so thankfully the walk itself tired her out although she was bounding off ahead whilst I was still trying to keep my balance!

That sounds right to me :)

I've only got an aerobic step, so I'm going to have to count steps in one minute and then multiply etc etc and hope I keep a steady pace!

I followed suit and did 5 up and down the stairs in a row earlier just to test it out, and blimey, I think I'll be doing bursts of 5-10 at a time and no more! Admittedly, it will be much easier after OH's removed the step ladders and buckets of adhesive from the top of the stairs, and the huge roll of underlay from across the bottom :D
