    hello all

best of luck to the everest climbers! I'll be joining in in spirit only!
I would love to join in but I live in a flat!
I have a stepper machine but it only counts steps no distance or anything... oh well I will keep everest in mind when I am on it!!

Couldn't do Davina today, slept weirdly last night and kept waking up in agony my shoulder was throbbing and now my arm is aching really badly. Gonna take a few ibuprofen in a bit hopefully i will still be able to type/work properly today!! typing with 1 hand is tricky and slow!!

found asda at the weekend, really closeby but never ventured there cos I am a Mr T girl normally! must say am impressed good prices for salad, fruit and veg so hopefully set myself up for some healthy meals this week.

Bettyb, when there's a will there's a way! If you get a piece of card mark the distance between the step at it's lowest and highest you'll know how high your 'steps' are, then all you need to do is multiply the number of steps recorded by that many inches :D I'm going to be doing something similar so I can add some step ups while I watch the telly :)

Hey fred, put me down for the everest climb please. Will measure my stairs tomorrow as i dont want to wake my kids up.

Been a bit sloppy recently and really need to start afresh AGAIN in march so the challenge will be perfect. Havent been doing much exercise as i have been feeling under the weather recently, plus have been tired out during the half term holidays chasing after the kids. Plus went out last night and the alcohol consumed was not a good idea as i know its wasted calories. But im ready to start over and from tomorrow i will be munching on carrots and apples to try and get rid of my need for chocolate on a daily basis. Doesnt help when the kids want to go in the shop every day (i live above a newsagents).

I'm feeling the same, so many good intentions this month that went out of the window! I was meant to be one of Eric's guineapigs, but that went awry when I realised how much bread, pizza, pasta, potatoes we still had to use up - and unfortunately we're not in a situation to restock until we need to iyswam. I've also been counting calories, but that's all slipped again because of, likewise, illness and children!

March is going to be better, maybe not as low carb as I wanted to try, but definitely lower in calories - and probably very sore knees after all those steps!

Oh, and a big :T:T to all the losers and STS and a huuuge hello and welcome to anyone I haven't waved at yet :)

Hi Dory  Hi Gambit

Dory, I agree with what sgtg said... there's no time quite like the present to get started :-)

Gambit - 8lbs in a month is a good start. Are you going to be on the WW team if we do battle of the diets over the next few weeks? - have a look at Fredsnail's previous post if you want more info

lucinad - a whole box of chocs may just be responsible for your 1lb gain - although you would need to eat a whopping 700g of chocolate to put on 1lb (3500 calories=1lb) and thats a bit more than a box - more like 3/4 of a quality street tin!

    Alli - whats the c25k ??

Yeah, thats a great idea if you're still up for it.
The plan was to climb the equivalent height of Everest during March (on the real Everest, base camp to summit is a climb of 11328 feet. Whereas my "virtual everest" (house stairs) is a climb of just over 8' so it works out that to get the same total, i'd need to go up them 1330 times altogether, which spread out over the month equals about 45 times each day)
Obviously I dont know how high your stairs are but I'm sure you can work it out.
Do you want to have a race to the top??? Starting March 1st? Last one to the top is a wuss lol!
Theres a fair chance that this will be too ambitious for a lard lump like me, but if i dont try then will never know!

    Sary... 24 cupcakes:eek::eek:
Thanks for all the welcomes :)

WW battle? Yes, I think I'm up for that, I'll have a look for the post!
