Thanks BB - dont worry I am not stewing in self pity and hatred I realise that I am young and lucky to have identified and (hopefully)nipped my bad behaviour in the bud in time to make 2011 and 25 my year!!

Oh my goodness that juice sounds lush! Like the ones you get in Wagamama!!
I saw a juicer going for £20 in Lidl but OH wouldn't let me get it cos our kitchen is already crammed full of gadgets! guess there's no way to juice fruit without a juicer is there????!

    Good -oh.
Re juicers: I'm not sure they can all do veg. Mine takes whole carrots with no problem...but then it did cost a lot of money.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

There was a weight loss program/series on tv a while ago (was it part of supersize v superskinny?.. sorry I'm a bit vague on the details) where Anna Richardson tried out various qick-fix and fad diets. She went and spoke to a woman who had had hypnotherapy, and who was not able to eat as much as she used to. Anna then went to (I think) Marissa Peer for a session and found that of all the things she tried, the hypnotherapy was the most effective. Of course this was just a brief slot, so there was no mention of longer term successes.

Completely aside, I have managed to get a 50 year old chap to stop his lifelong nail biting habit in one session, so I am in no doubt that hypnotherapy works (but then I wouldn't lol).

This is what i was thinking of doing, the 1 on 1 sessions but as i read about it, i wanted to know if anyone had tried it first as most sessions are £50 for an hour which is alot of money to spend if it isnt going to help. That why i wanted to see if it had worked for anyone else.

I've used hypnotherpay a few times. It worked really well ( alongside some NLP techniques) for dealing with confidence issues at work years and years ago. I then tried it for an eating issue and it worked excellently for giving up eating chocolate - but I ate other things instead. A few years later I tried it for weight loss again and it had no effect at all. So I'm not sure what I think .... I guess if you have no problems affording the cost then give it a go.

I suspect it's best for relativley simpler issues (the chocolate or the nail biting) rather than the complexity of inappropriate eating.

Alliwant - good luck with the running! That's exciting stuff. I think that's how Missy, who used to contribute regularly on the thread, go into her sports, and managed to maintain her size 8 figure after her weightloss.
Thanks for asking about the cake baking. I have my first client order to fulfill this week (so why I'm on here and not in the kitchen I don't know!), which is a bit tricky, as the theme is 'Versailles', but I think I've got some good designs sorted. I'm still in the baby stages of setting up my business, with sooooo much to do. Slowly but surely I'll get there. :D

OK, I've got 2 dozen cupcakes to make now, so I've got to get off. TTFN.

Thanks Sary still in thinking stage at moment but if it helps me get in better shape and makes surfing easier i'm up for trying anything.
Cakes sound great are we going to see you on food network's cupcake wars any time soon ?? :D Good luck with the business it sounds so exciting keep me posted x

    Alli - whats the c25k ??

Yeah, thats a great idea if you're still up for it.
The plan was to climb the equivalent height of Everest during March (on the real Everest, base camp to summit is a climb of 11328 feet. Whereas my "virtual everest" (house stairs) is a climb of just over 8' so it works out that to get the same total, i'd need to go up them 1330 times altogether, which spread out over the month equals about 45 times each day)
Obviously I dont know how high your stairs are but I'm sure you can work it out.
Do you want to have a race to the top??? Starting March 1st? Last one to the top is a wuss lol!
Theres a fair chance that this will be too ambitious for a lard lump like me, but if i dont try then will never know!

Yeah i'm up for this it sounds like a good challenge my OH thinks our stairs are about 8ft too but can I count the stairs I have to climb at work too ?? So starting from the 1st march is it 45x per day or is it really a race to the top??
I have to say after your super 71 mile hike I am a little worried that you will beat the socks off me :o

Puddings, I would like to join your Everest stairs challenge if I may. I'm not going to be able to race much as I have ME, but I will see which camp I can reach by the time the winner reaches the top! March 1st sounds good to me, give me time to psych myself up for it :p

More the merrier I say :D

Suffering with really bad toothache today so my plan of trying to get a 30 min walk in before work went out the window and as the day has gone on it feels like the side of my face is on fire :( Work is hell and full with the new computer system so all I can do is keep taking the Ibuprofen and paracetamol and make it through to my day off on Thursday and pray I can get an emergency appointment

Welcome to all newbies. We're a friendly bunch most of the time, even when we have our little disagreements, things always work themselves out and we support each other thru thick (blah) and thin :j:j:j

I have some magnificent news. I am officially unemployed as of 03/03/11  Some of you know the battles I've been having and I have now been medically retired from my job as a postie :j My last day is Saturday, and I'll pirouette out of that office on saturday at 2pm and show them how agile i really am :rotfl: Next week I have my final week of holidays booked. So needless to say I'm a rather happy bunny right now. How daft does that sound, happy to be unemployed, I should say the backhander has helped too :rotfl:

RE: The other problem with the boobs! Already been to the docs girls, no need to worry. Just waiting for hospital appointment coming through, doc reckoned 1-2 weeks for that. Due to family history I would never take any chances. I honestly think it's just bruising tho, although I have felt other lumps while examining, I'm pretty sure they are just cysts like they were the last time. Not going to worry about snow that might never fall!! But going to enjoy my few weeks as a lady of leisure :D:D:D:D:D

thanks alliwant - I am a bit calmer now but still can't believe it when it said obese. I know i'm a bit podgy but that was a shock dose of reality.

I did 30 mins on the stepper with handweight exercises too, then did 15 mins of aerobics (just made it up as i went along, knee lifts, squats, lunges etc) and then for the last 15 mins and weigh in I did floor work - press ups, sit ups and stretches.
It was fun - I swear if OH went out more after work i'd be a lot fitter, just can't bring myself to work out in the living room when he's home it's too cringy!!

i have really enjoyed watching the biggest loser (i do feel a bit guilty sometimes when i'm lying on the sofa watching it tho!) but I have not liked some elements - all that stuff that happened with angie was annoying and I do think that less deserving people have got into the final - I think paddy was a lot more motivated and inspirational than karen

I totally agree. If it was down to who deserves to be there then Rob should have been in the final.
Yeah i'm up for this it sounds like a good challenge my OH thinks our stairs are about 8ft too but can I count the stairs I have to climb at work too ?? So starting from the 1st march is it 45x per day or is it really a race to the top??
It's the first to climb 11,328 feet, whether that be at home, at work, on step machine or however you want to do it, but if youre doing a bit here and a bit there then keeping track might get a bit tricky, but its up to you!

I'm going to do mine at home cos i know that the 14 stairs comes to 8.5' high, I'll put a pile of pennies at the bottom and take them up one at a time, so at the end of each day I'll simply count up how many pennies have gone upstairs and times it by 8.5 to get the total. For me, I think it will be easier to work out that way. Oh and ive changed my mind about wearing the weight vest lol, i think 25 stone is more than enough to lug up a virtual mountain !!!
More the merrier I say :D
yeah, i agree: Izames and SGTG :-)
