    Hi
I've been lurking on this thread for a little while now but not had the courage to actually say hello and request to join - until today that is! I've been doing WW for around 8 mths so far and up until xmas had lost 2.5 stone, however I've kinda fallen off the bandwagon as it were and gained back half a stone so I really need the motivation to get back on and lose that half a stone plus the other gajillion stone needed for me to be at my ideal weight. I'm hoping its not too late for a newbie to join and I would love to take part in any challenges etc you guys do :) I'm actually on holiday atm (just visiting my parents) but aim to weigh myself on monday morning and start afresh :D

    Hi Dory :D
I'm still a newbie really, only been chatting to this lot since the beginning of January and they're a lovely and supportive bunch who I'm sure would agree - the more the merrier!

Well done on losing 2 1/2 stone, that's fabulous! Don't beat yourself up about putting some back on - if like me you DO have a galillion stone to lose, think back to your first few weeks losses at WW, I bet they were quite high numbers? No reason at all why you couldn't lose 7lb in a few weeks of tracking now :) How are you finding the new points system? My MIL's still struggling to get into it..

Are you currently writing everything down? If not, why wait until you get back home, that's potentially 6 days of overeating. If you do it now you'll know what you're eating and won't let your parents spoil you with extra helpings! :rotfl:

  • Hi, another newbie, I've been on WW for about a month, have lost 8lbs so far, trying to keep myself motivated with small goals. Determined to keep the weight off this time!

    Hello gang,

Welcome to Dory, and Gambit. Join in, and good luck on your weight loss journeys.

Mazza - welcome back to the mad house, but can I request that you get that lump checked out hun? For the sake of a 5 min appt. to put your (and my) mind at rest, it would make sense.

Teecee - ((Hugs)) to you. It can be so tough to stay committed to eating healthily when life throws rubbish times our way. Unfortunately, that is part and parcel of life, and there will always be tough times to deal with. Part of the lesson we have to learn to successfully lose weight, long term, is to learn how to cope in those tough times, and not react to them with food. You're amongst a majority of people here who will all nod in agreement that food has often been a very comforting friend, or so we think, only to turn around and not only bite us on the bum, but increase it to the size of a small continent in the process. Take care, and I hope things calm down for you soon. x

Alliwant - good luck with the running! That's exciting stuff. I think that's how Missy, who used to contribute regularly on the thread, go into her sports, and managed to maintain her size 8 figure after her weightloss.
Thanks for asking about the cake baking. I have my first client order to fulfill this week (so why I'm on here and not in the kitchen I don't know!), which is a bit tricky, as the theme is 'Versailles', but I think I've got some good designs sorted. I'm still in the baby stages of setting up my business, with sooooo much to do. Slowly but surely I'll get there. :D

Puds & Sweetcheeks - Wowzers! Brilliant achievement by you both, so well done. If you'll walk 71 miles for a breakfast, I dread to think how far you'd go for a slap up lunch!??

Fred - I'm happy to join in with the slimming plan challenge. Put me down for the Slimming World team, although it might only be me in it!

OK, I've got 2 dozen cupcakes to make now, so I've got to get off. TTFN.

Well actually I'm kinda using this week as the kick start I need! lol! My mum is currently on WW and is just coming up to the stone lost mark so she's been plying me with all sorts of new recipes and things to try but all healthy and pointed accordingly which is great :D I can smell dinner right now which I've been told is a chicken and mushroom stew/casserole thing (lol) which featured in 'This Week' mag a few weeks ago.

As to the new plan I'll be honest I can't get my head round it, I think that may be part of the reason I fell off the wagon - well that and the fact my husband and I have separated after almost 12 yrs together and I've had to move out with our 6 yr old daughter to a rented place nearby :/ I am going to go with my mum to her WW meeting tonight and have a word with her leader to see if she can help me get my head round it (I think its mostly just that I used to using the old points values and still don't know what all the new points values are!) I've also toyed with the idea of defecting to the other side (SW that is!) as I have a few friends who have done quite well on it and say its loads easier now with their new Extra Easy plan - so if anyone has experience of both it might be nice to hear their views on it??

Anyway enough rambling for now - off for my stew/casserole type thing!!! :D
