Well done on completing the walking mission Puddings and sweetcheeks :T:T:T

Ok you have a choice for next months team challenge:

    Men v Women

    or

Slimming World v Weight Watchers v other plans v DIY healthy eating & more exercise

Fred, I think I have to back out of the rest of this and next month's challenge. With the only explanation being a bit of a health scare with my mum, my mood has dropped about 50 notches and I have spent the last week to 10 days "eating for Ireland" as we would say here (which will no doubt show up at WI today - if I go). And as I'm eating or drinking whatever - I don't even want it!:( Until I can give my a** a good kick, I don't think I would be an asset to any team. I'll come back when I climb back up on the SW wagon again. Sorry and good luck everybody. :o
A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:
Joined SW 13/9/10 - wanted to lose 56lb and lost 26lb! Rejoined on 9/1/12 having gained 17lb of my loss!!! :(
    Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!

puds is on a roll i say men v women :D
    haha
the only roll that puds is on is a bacon roll... shortly followed by a swiss roll... and later, when the dog suddenly takes off at full speed chasing a rabbit, then puds will probably be on a roll down slippery hillside all covered in mud! :-)

I'd prefer to do battle of the diets please Fred... i'm counting calories and upping exercise

Something we haven't been talking about that we should and will impact your ability to stick to a diet or healthy eating plan - Sleep. Your body naturally produces an appetite suppressing hormone called Leptin. When you don't get enough sleep, you produce less of this hormone and more of another called ghrelin. So often when people are craving sweet treats it's not because you are actually hungry but because you aren't get enough sleep.

So make sure you tuck up nice and early in bed!
interesting :-) the most common time for me to pig out is very late at night if ive fallen asleep in front of the tv and then half awake get up to go to bed (but end up in the kitchen instead with mega carb cravings!)

Mandz - if you do try hypnotherapy then please let us know how you get on, i'd be very interested to hear if it helps or not

teecee, sorry to read about your mum. All i can say is that eating for Ireland wont help you or her, but i'm sure you know that anyway. Let us know how you get on.

Firstly well done puds and co. for walking 71miles. That is absolutely fabulous! It must have been daunting so good on you for sticking to it.

Let me know your choices and the challenge picked will be next month - if you choose the second choice and are on a plan that is not WW or SW please post which plan you're doing - if there's enough on a plan I'll include it as a seperate team.

Second option. And put me down for DIY healthy eating and more exercise. :)

Also, posting a 1lb gain. I'm not that upset as I've just started my TOTM and know most of it must be fluid as I haven't been doing any unhealthy eating. Next week should see a 2lbs-3lbs loss hopefully, fingers crossed.

    hello all

Fred I dont want to be in the challenge this month thanks as I am still getting my head around my DIY diet and exercise plan.

It is slowly starting to 'click' and I have to say I feel great, my mood has improved and I am generally feeling a lot more positive now i'm not following a 'diet' - It's like I dont feel deprived or restricted and as a result I am a lot less likely to pull against it or 'cheat' or binge. I had a few bits of chocolate at the weekend but without the stigma of it being 'bad' I didnt feel the need to over indulge.

Accidentally slept in today and now i'm really behind with work so prob wont have time for davina - but OH is out after work tomorrow so I can do a full hour tomorrow evening which will be nice. He's also promised me he'll drive to me to the gym for zumba on day soon!

  • Puds! I thought I'd already congratulated you and Sweetcheeks, but apparently not! Fantastic achievement, good on you both :)

Teecee - Sorry to hear about your mum, I hope whatever it is is resolved soon. Please remember that just because you have been eating everything in sight and feeling completely out of control doesn't mean it has to continue. It would be awful if when everything's back to normal, you feel like you've gone so far 'the other way' that you can't get back into it :( Look after yourself

I've started paying attention to my diet again today, though my attention span has been greatly aided by Lemsip and proplus and I still feel bleeeurgh _pale_

I had porridge with brazil nuts, cashews, banana and raisins... and was a bit shocked when I worked it out as 640 calories!? (I've never really tried nuts and seeds as part of a meal, but when OH did the shopping yesterday he picked out about 5 different things for me to try:))Still, that was at 7am, and I've not felt peckish at all until now. Going to sort out the girls' lunch and work out something low carb and calorie friendly for me.

Oh, and can I be added to DIY diet please Fred?

How are you lot doing today then?

Has anyone ever considered hypnotherapy to help them lose weight. i have just been googling weight loss and it popped up. any thoughts?

Hi Mandz1, I have tried a few hypnotherapy CDs for weight loss, including the one that Paul McKenna does, and I have to say that they haven't really worked for me, except as a relaxation aid!

Having said that, one on one hypnotherapy with a trained therapist can be very effective as you are getting a session(s) personalised for you that will address anything that has contributed to your weight gain. If you have any problems along your weight loss journey you can go back for another session that will address that particular problem. If you are interested and want to find a hypnotherapist, then see if anyone you know can recommend someone or check out the associations such as the General Hypnotherapy Register to find a therapist in your area. Anyone who is a member of such professional bodies will have undergone training that has been approved by that body and will have public liability insurance in case anything should go wrong. I would imagine that if you gave someone a call they could explain to you what the therapy would involve, so you would get an idea before you spend money. (I am a recently certified hypnnotherapist, hence I know about the GHR etc.)

    Hope this helps :)
