Hi McFilly, sorry but i didnt really understand your question. are you asking about ideas for low calorie, high protein vegetarian food?
are you trying any particular diet plan? weightwatchers? slimming world? calorie counting? atkins etc?

Sorry, should have said, I am not following any diet plan, I am just trying to figure out the best way to eat to lose weight based on the strange times that I have to eat. I always had understood that you need to have plenty of protein at breakfast time which was why I had mentioned protein.

I have tried other diet plans in the past but with not much success so am trying to figure it out for myself but could use some help please:)

lolly - if lowcarb works for you and it fits in with the kinds of food that you like to eat then stick with it

Yes, I definitely think I've found a diet that fits. I do struggle with meals sometimes as the choice can be quite limited, but on the whole it does work for me.

Well done on completing the walking mission Puddings and sweetcheeks :T:T:T

Ok you have a choice for next months team challenge:

    Men v Women

    or

Slimming World v Weight Watchers v other plans v DIY healthy eating & more exercise

Let me know your choices and the challenge picked will be next month - if you choose the second choice and are on a plan that is not WW or SW please post which plan you're doing - if there's enough on a plan I'll include it as a seperate team.

I'd like to do the SW vs WW vs whatever else, it would be interesting to see the results of that one. If we do go for it, stick me on the 'low carb' team please.

Something we haven't been talking about that we should and will impact your ability to stick to a diet or healthy eating plan - Sleep. Your body naturally produces an appetite suppressing hormone called Leptin. When you don't get enough sleep, you produce less of this hormone and more of another called ghrelin. So often when people are craving sweet treats it's not because you are actually hungry but because you aren't get enough sleep.

So make sure you tuck up nice and early in bed!

I definitely agree with that one. I find that when I'm tired I tend to over eat as I feel that I need something to 'perk me up' a bit!

Thanks for that. I haven't been sleeping well (due to stress, frustration, worry) and have had to result to medication to help me sleep. Thats the reason I have just scoffed a very large bar of nutty chocolate.

Put me down for the DIY plan - not following any well known plan (not really any at the moment if Im honest) but I will try harder this week from tomorrow. Brownie Promise xxx
  • Just borrowed WII fit from Blockbusters, now want to buy one second hand, if anyone knows where I can get one cheap, please let me know:money:. Anyway, I am hoping it will help me loose weight.

Was doing a lot of walking at work because the computer went down and I had to be part of the museum, the human presence, so I did a lot of walking about and meeting people. Good for the waistline.
Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time

My vote for eating plans I have not done WW or SW so put me down if you do this one as DIY calorie counting and exercise :D

Have you found out the problem with your trainers ?
I am thinking about doing the couch to 5km challenge but not 100% decided or not. But I think I will need to invest in some running trainers, does anyone have any advice about buying trainers for running ? I have no clue but believe buying good trainers is important?

On a side note..... how has kerry stayed in dancing on ice this long she is terrible :rotfl:

If sleep is so important why am I still craving sweet stuff. I could beat Beanie at sleeping for Scotland. Another weekend ruined by me sleeping through it  Had all me bloods tested, B12 is normal, so aint that, no signs of anaemia. Just knackered all the time. Maybe that's why I can't get back into my diet atm too. Then all the carp food making me worse too.

I've not found the problem for my trainers yet - I think I'll try breaking them in by wearing them round the house for a bit and see how they get on then. I'm also doing toe/foot raises to strengthen my feet to see if that helps too.

I will announce next months team challenge on Wednesday as this week is the last week for this month.

Hey all, congrats to puds and sweetcheeks for walking 71 miles, i wouldnt have been able to do that in this cold weather.
Diet plans sound good fred for next challenge, im just cutting down on certain foods and exercising more so guess that would make me DIY!

Has anyone ever considered hypnotherapy to help them lose weight. i have just been googling weight loss and it popped up. any thoughts?
