Hi Dory and Gambit, welcome! I'm fairly new here too, but I've found everyone very welcoming and helpful.
Puddings, I would like to join your Everest stairs challenge if I may. I'm not going to be able to race much as I have ME, but I will see which camp I can reach by the time the winner reaches the top! March 1st sounds good to me, give me time to psych myself up for it0 -

If you are at 11 st Betty, you'd need to be 5ft tall to register as obese, so only you know your measurements. I don't believe bmi is a load of rubbish - I think it can be a useful tool, but completely wrong for some people. And internal fat levels are just as improtant - you can be skinny but have too much viseral fat.
I do use it as a useful guideline. When I tipped over into 30.01(i.e. obese) it was right - I was very overweight and it kicked me in to doing something.I was shocked by the obese tag too. But we have got so used to people being bigger, we don't realise how overweight a lot of people are.
Mazza - welcome back - hope the job situation is resolved soon. And get yourself checked out Mrs.
Beanie -you don't mean cupcake, you mean raw carrot surely?:D
Chuck the carrots Missus:D
My BMI is currently at the lower end of obese & that is not great to see.My problem is that I start of big guns & then loose motivation a bit.I really need to try to keep my eye on the ball this time & get down into being overweight.I need to really foccus on my knees & my mobility issues.

ditto!
well, I could run up and down the communal stairs but not sure the neighbours (who i don't know!) would appreciate it!
I would like to start walking more, getting outside in the sunshine. But work and home commitments make me feel like I have no time for the 'luxury' of a walk!! Wish I had a dog!!
Going to watch the biggest loser UK (ep 7 of 8) in a mo and have a go on my stepper machine (once i've cleaned all the dust off it!!):oBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

I am 5ft 2 and just about 11st
I am truly shocked as I always knew I was just over the line of healthy/unhealhty and now I am past the line and hating myself for not taking better care of myself.
The things I so wish I had known at 25 are endless...
I just need to make sure that at 67 iam not saying, 'I so wish I had done this at 47 - it would have been so much easier then.'
Anyhow - 5ft2" and 11 st is not obese: it is 28.21 which is in the middle of the overweight category (25 - 29.9).
Beanie - I buy 5kg of carrots every 2 weeks and juice them with ginger, apple and celery:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
That juice sounds yum bb but I would miss out the celery I think.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. You have this year to turn it around and that would be fantastic - setting yourself up for a fit and healthy future - 50+ yrs of it. If we were all sorted and perfect by 25 wouldn't life be dull, lol.

Thanks BB - dont worry I am not stewing in self pity and hatred I realise that I am young and lucky to have identified and (hopefully)nipped my bad behaviour in the bud in time to make 2011 and 25 my year!!
Oh my goodness that juice sounds lush! Like the ones you get in Wagamama!!
I saw a juicer going for £20 in Lidl but OH wouldn't let me get it cos our kitchen is already crammed full of gadgets! guess there's no way to juice fruit without a juicer is there????!
Halfway through my stepper workout (just having a break for rehydration!) Better get back to it!!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
