Hi All,
Could I please join the thread again this month? I weighed myself on Saturday and I have -1lb! This takes my current weight to 10st 10lbs and my vital measurements at 37/30/39 at 5ft 6". So that means I have lost 8lbs in January!! :j
Exercise Log for yesterday:
30mins on cross trainer at home (the computer is currently awol so I have no idea how many kcal i burnt). 40mins on EA Active at Hard Intensity, which included 140 lunges of 3 varieties! My knees!!
Food Diary for yesterday:
Breakfast - scrambled eggs with one slice smoked cheese, 3 chipolatas, baked beans and 1 hash brown!!! Coffee, tropical juice
Lunch - 3 oatcakes (didn't really have lunch, as the breakfast was eaten quite late)
Dinner - WW mini wholemeal chicken pizza, cheese and mustard mash, salad leaves and chopped celery. Orange and dark choc mullerlight yog.
Snacks - 1/2 protein bar and choc soya milk
Tried to do my best in Frankie and Bennys on Saturday, and chose the fishcakes with herb potatoes. I assumed they would be new potatoes, not double fried chunks even worse than chips  And the fishcakes were more cheese than fish! Needless to say I held back and left a lot on my plate.Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
hey, my weight loss for last week is -1lb I haven't been able to get on all weekend but weighed in on friday!
Random question, but how does everyone else cope trying to lose weight when the other half buys cookies, cakes, muffins etc?
Ask them not to? It must make it pretty difficult if you have a sweet tooth and you aren't both pulling in the same direction.0 -

seems unfair to deny OH sweet treats in their own house though, esp if they are not overweight. It's not their diet...Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Hi there
I attempted to join in on the last thread, but it never really happened
Since the New Year, I've been following the OS forum, and have been avoiding junk most of the month and making almost everything from scratchMy OH, who's been eating exactly the same as me has lost about 6-7lb - I've been doing a lot more exercise than him but I've no way of weighing myself 'cause embarrassingly enough, I'm too heavy for the wii board and the bathroom scales - they just cry at me.. I think I've lost a few pounds though. Last time I weighed myself was at ww about 4 months ago, and I think I must be about 24 1/2 st
At the moment I'm just trying to get down to 23st10 so I can actually track my weight!
There's a NHS weight group on tomorrow, all free, which sounds like a weekly weigh in and a chat about exercise and nutrition etc. I've been meaning to go for the last 2 weeks, but it's difficult to convince myself. I'm sure that I'll be the biggest there, and that they'll be loads of other 'mums' there from the school gawking at me. Sounds ridiculous I know, but I just can't seem to fit in around here, and my weight is just one more thing that sets me apart
All I can do is try I guess, and stick to the 'exercise 3 times a week' challenge I've just joined... and try to eat healthily

My OH eats all the above and more and so do the kids, they eat them at school, out, in the car, with friends, when they go to the clubs, upstairs in thier rooms,on the way home, after they have bought it from the supermarket, they are not on a diet so they do not have to worry about cals, sugars etc and eat it whenever, here in the house I have none of those things and they do not tend to bring it in, courtesy I guess but it is not a 'OH you will not eat that under my roof', that is for them to decide.:D
Funny really because the other night eldest girlfriend decided she wanted a donner kebab and for the same reasons (like not having to watch them eat it etc) they ate with the door closed in the dining room, cleaned up after themselves and that was that until I opened the door again because that is where the comp is and OMG:eek: the whole room was wreaking of fat and junk food disgusting smell, fabrezed it for ages but yuck:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Then it's going to be harder for them - what else is there to say?
that's why i suggested the OH have some sweets or treats that only they like, but that kksweety doesn't like, so she's not tempted
for instance, my OH loves fruit gums and sports mixtures, which i can't stand, so i dont care if he keeps them in the kitchen, i'm not going near them!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Hi Everyone,
Well I thought I'd log in since it's the last day of the month. I weighed myself this morning and I've lost another 1lb so that makes it 8 lbs this month - that's around 7 bs more than I thought I'd lose, lol! I don't think I could/would have done it without being a part of this forum, so thanks for being here everyone!!!
I am going to do the 5lb a month challenge again, although am hoping I can lose a little more than that. Can you also put me in the England team, Fred. I'll PM you with my weight later today.
Well I'm still on Atkins, kind of. I'm doing my own version of it as I haven't given up caffeine (I simply can not live without diet coke!!!), I'm also not completely sticking to the 20g carb limit (I'm eating more like 30g). I'm finding it a little silly that I have to limit healthy food just to stay within target. I'm still not eating most fruits, but I'm allowing myself to have a bit more veg than I did before (tomatoes in particular - they're not exactly carb heavy, but I found I had to limit how many I ate.
I've been having quite a few chocolate cravings lately so have been buying lots of Atkins bars, it's too expensive now they're not on offer though so have been scouring my Calorie, Carb and Fat Bible for lower carb chocolate. I've found a couple of bars which are quite low carb (especially when you take off the fibre count), so that should help to keep me in line with my diet. I'm quite suprised that I haven't been craving other things (especially bread!). I find that I wander around the supermarket, looking longingly at things that I can't have, but by the time I get home I've forgotten about them.
Well, it's funny that we were taking about dentists last week as my wisdom tooth is giving me a bit of pain today.... so I've booked myself in!!! OMG, I'm scared already and my appointment isn't until the 15th! it has to be looked at though so I will try and be brave!
Hi SGTG,
Welcome to the forum! I've only been here a month, but I've found it really helpful and motivating, so you've come to the right place!
I know what you mean about the mums at school - I don't fit in either! It's very cliquey at DS's school, and I don't have the time, energy, or inclination to hang around school 30 mins before it opens (as they do!) trying to befriend them!
Well done with everything you've done so far, and good luck for tomorrow if you go.
Right, I'm off to post the results of my grocery challenge... :rotfl: I've spent a ridiculous amount on food this month!!!0 -
Thanks for the replys guys :-) didn't think it would cause as much debate as it had though. My OH defo does not need to lose any weight... he's actually underweight so denying him things he likes because I can't control myself is a bit harsh....
I think I will suggest the buying things I dont like route and anything else he can keep in his work bag/at work/out of reach from me.
I think another good idea would be if he wants them he can buy them when I'm not there.... if I'm there, I see it, I'll want one..... if I don't know what he has I don't know what I'm missing :-D0
