Hello!! I'm new!!!!
I've been using this site for ages (normally hang around the grabbit/discounts board) but I'd prefer to use different log in details as my other details are linked to me and I'm worried about people knowing all my business!!! :rotfl:
So I started WW... anyone else here on this? How does this thread work... do you all have a weekly weigh in?! How is everyone doing? Any advice, especially from you devoted WW'ers would be fantastic :T0 -
Lost 1lb this week. So I'm now 154lbs.
Anyway, i did TurboFire today instead of Insanity and P90x. I've gotta say, I didn't expect TurboFire to get me pumped up like that. It's not as hard as Insanity (I've yet to find a workout that is as hard as Insanity lol), but it was close. It was really fun though, alot of dance moves, i was working it out.
Still love Insanity more though, as at least with the exercises there there are no complicated moves, whereas with TurboFire, you really have to watch how they do all the moves, and start with the breakdown version, otherwise you'll be wasting your time. Can't wait for tomorrow.0 -
Hi Weasel,
Welcome to the forum! Most of us are on SW and WW. I'm the odd one out lol, (on Atkins) so can't really give you any advice WW wise.
You have come at the right time as we have a 5 lb a month challenge and a group challenge (this month it's home countries; England, Ireland, etc) that are about to start.
If you want to join the challenges you can either post your starting weight or PM it to Fredsnail, who kindly takes care of the weight loss charts. We weigh in weekly (whatever day suits you), and the chart is posted every wed night. The team's losses are added up and which ever team loses the highest percentage of weight wins!0 -
Hi Weasel
I'm doing WW too; I'm concentrating on saving my weekly points into the weekend as far as I can, using my pedometer to increase my daily steps and trying to eat healthy snacks in between meals so I don't get too hungry and start binging on the wrong stuff.
Good luck with WW and I hope you lose the pounds that you want to and don't find them again!
It's my Weigh-in tonight and I'm hoping to see a loss this week. I'll be back tonight to report in.0 -

Well done on your weight loss Princess-X!
I hadn't heard of Turbofire and the others so googled and read about it and now feel in need of a sit down!! Well done, those workouts look very hard core and you sound like you're really enjoying them. Maybe I should dust down my beginners Move More WW DVD at some point. Or possibly just get some exercise from dusting instead!0 -

Yeah, you're right, they are lol. It is doable though if you're determined enough. I used to weigh 200lbs, started off with brisk walking on the treadmill, did that 40mins everyday, increased that to 60mins everyday. Then after about 2 weeks, incorporated HIIT into it, and then got very bored of the treadmill, and found Insanity. It's very hard, and i don't do ALL the moves, but enough that it makes a difference (so at least about 30mins). And from P90x i only ever do either Plyometrics or Legs & back, though i want to start doing Yoga again. I don't ever follow their plans, just pick and choose. I don't think im fit enough to follow their routines to the letter lol. When I did TurboFire today, i had a few breaks (about 5 or so), but I kept going, because yes I have built my fitness up a bit, but also because whenever I do a workout, I'm always determined to stick to what I've already planned beforehand.
I could have gotten to my goal size ages ago, but i always kept losing my mojo. Got my mojo back in october, and i've been losing consistently every week.
All the best with the workout. And yeh simple things like household chores do wonders too. I have a cousin who used to be chubby, but her mum kept asking her to do this and that, and she lost a lot. She's like a size 8 - size 10 now. I'd do the same, but with me, im too lazy with household chores. I have my sister and mum to do them lol. Give me an exercise workout, and I'd be willing, give me a chore, no way ha.0 -
Hello everyone!
Room for one more?
Firstly, good luck to everyone losing and involved in this; wishing everyone the best of luck.
I decided to sign up as I need a bit of motivation and find participating much more enjoyable than tracking things myself. Little bit about myself: Over the last 6-9 months I've noticed myself gradually expanding around the waist and moved from a 32" waist to now barely fitting into 38". I never really weighed myself because I just assumed I was in the 180-190 area but I weighed myself a few days ago and was over 200lbs. Decided enough was enough and have set about dropping that figure back down.
I had always been one of those people that says, 'I can eat/drink whatever I want. My metabolism will take care of it.' Well, now, clearly it won't. I don't really eat to excess but I drink a lot which is about the worst thing you can do I guess. Stopped drinking last Monday and the eight days between then and now has been the longest I've gone without a drink. To be honest, I feel great about it. Feel healthier in myself already because of that and like I have much more energy. I haven't set myself a 'Don't drink at all' goal as I think that would probably be more pressure on me than I want. Baby steps.
I have a rowing machine and I'm doing 15-20 minutes consecutively a night on the hardest setting which usually averages out to about 2.5-3km a night. I have a couple of apps on my iPhone which is really helping me get into a routine. 200 Sit-ups and 100 Push-ups. At the minute I'm able to do 50 sit-ups consecutively and using the app I'm increasing each day. Today I've done 120. Push-ups I'm not so hot on but have only just started that.
I'm also running now. I prefer going out and about through woods and the like. I prefer looking at things while I do it as opposed to just moving on a treadmill. Again I'm using an iPhone app and increasing my activity daily.
I'm not going to get complacent about things but I really feel good about my losing weight this time (and of course, saving money!). I even made myself a pasta to take to work for lunch today which I've never done before.
Feel free to put me in with England. Starting weight (as of this morning) is 203lbs.
Hope everyone is having a great day and looking forward to getting to know y'all.0 -
Hi Sawyer :-)
Hi Weasel :-)
Well done princess - another one in the bag.
STGTG - I doubt its going to be a public weigh in, the sort where its announced to everybody in the room how much you weigh... (if it is then I'd be having words!!!)... so if they dont have a decent set of scales then theres only you and the person weighing you that will know, so you shouldnt be embarrassed! If anything, the people running the meeting should be the ones embarrassed because they've been caught out using rubbish equipment!
I count calories, 5 small meals a day and try not to binge. My exercise plan is very simple I walk the dog 4 miles every day and try to go upstairs downstairs 45 times every day. I bought a vest that has weights in it (up to 30kg) : if im feeling energetic I'll take that out on the walk or upstairs as well.
I havent been to any group meeting for a long time, I was so massively bigger than all the other people at ww, and i was the only bloke, and most of the conversation afterwards was about recipes which im not interested in, so no, group meetings aren't for me!0 -
Hello and welcome newbies
Not much to say today, feeling a bit rough, tired, snotty, etc

Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A0 -
Hello! Thought I would pop in and say hello, never posted in here before! Post in a fitness thread in the Arms as well, hope thats OK! xD.
In October 2010 I weighed 21 stone 5 lbs and 6ft 3", giving me a BMI of 37.4! I know weigh 18 stone 13 lbs, BMI of 33.1! Around 2 and a half stone lost.
My aim is to join the Army, so need to have a BMI of under 28, which will put me at around 16 stone - 16 and a half stone.
At the moment I'm going to the gym 2 or 3 times a week, tend to just go on the cross trainer for 40 minutes, and can burn around 440/450 calories in that time.
Also working on getting my run time down, need to run a mile and a half in around 12 minutes...first time I did it (before Xmas) was 24 minutes!! Got that down to 18 minutes so far, but really hate running!
Been working on press ups as well, need to do 44 in two minutes, so been doing 20 a day for the last 4 days, then going to increase them, trying to do decent ones as well.
The thing I struggle mostly with is my diet, before I would think nothing of eating 4-5k calories a day! I work shifts as well, so can be a bit tricky, does anyone have any ideas on simple food that I can make at home, take to work and eat in my 15 minute break?
I got a couple of sessions with a personal trainer for Xmas, so should be able to get some ideas on what to do! Know I'll be doing some kind of circuit training, so fingers crossed with that!
I think i follow you on twitter!0
