I did that 5k race for life last summer. !!!!!! me, i was the last out of all my friends!! I ran probably 40% of it, and walked the rest.
I say train as much as you can and see how far you go, set the bar high and aim to run it. I bet if you seriously started now you could run that by the time july comes round.

I do notice now the more chocolate i eat the more i want it, and if i have one bit thats it the seal has broken and i want more the next day.

But then, life is precious, im not obese so to deny myself one of lifes little pleasures would be sad and miserable.

Also, Me and my MIL are on about doing the race for life in memory of her mother who died of the big 'c' at the start of December. Now, I want to run it and I have the C25k in 9 weeks programe. However... When I mentioned I would like to run it to DH he near about died by choking on his coffee. Do you think I am being too hopful? I am 16st13 and the race is in July. The race its self is 5k. Would it look odd seeing a fat chick running along the prom? Would I be better walking it this year and running it next year? - Honest oppinions please!

ETanny, if I saw you I would give you an extra big cheer for doing it whether you were walking or running! :T

I would applaud you too - although it's named the race for life - it's for everyone - many people walk - even Paula Radcliffe walked it either last year or the year before (she walked with her Mother who threatened her health if she ran off - and if I remember she was pregnant/injured at the time too).
