Put on 1.5lbs
Ok not really a shocker since it's my totm, but stillI can't remember but i could almost swear that i've only ever had 1 totm gain and 1 or 2 STS's in previous months, the rest have been losses. Anyway, i'm not too worried as i know most of this is just water rentention and im told will go away after a couple of days, so i guess next weeks weigh in should be more accurate. And after looking at a couple of weight loss forums, im feeling relieved as people average about 2-7lbs gain.
I've improved on my food eating, and i've got to say that sticking to breadless meals is proving to be difficult. This is the second and final week of going without bread, and I find that because bread was where I got most of my carbs from, I'm still quite hungry as whatever im eating mostly consists of chicken, fish, salad, quorn etc. (so mainly protein) I don't have pasta or rice, but gonna make some pasta this friday or saturday and see how that goes. And obviously doesn't need saying, but it'll be wholemeal pasta.Kind of a frustrating moment as i was so sure i bagged in my total 4 stone loss but that achievement will soon come i know.

it took me and my other half about 2 months to adjust to not eating bread, don't miss it at all now, we both feel so much better without it, my IBS has gone and her 30 years of constipation went as well :j0 -

Not had chance to catch up on the thread yet but had to post this morning's loss! I've lost another 2lb... which takes me to a total of 1 stone! YAY! Was so excited I had to do a little victory dance!:dance:0 -

That's fab! But where do you get your carbs from?0 -

i stick to 120-150g a day since its the carbs (or rather insulin) that makes you fat
i have on a typical day
18g in milk
28g in a nature valley bar (low GI, 2-3 per day)
28g in veg
0.3g in cheese
I am pretty big but this level keeps me in mild ketosis
ironically even eating tonnes of animal fat from cheese, milk, steak etc my cholesterol intake only avgs 175mg a day!0 -
72.2 kg this morning. That's - 0.1 kg since last Wednesday.
About carbs, I've found it was the white refined stuff that was no good for me. I eat bread, but it's the wholemeal granary kind, never white. Also nothing made with white flour/white sugar e.g. cakes, biscuits, pies, all those kind of things. Don't often eat rice or pasta.
I've also stopped being hysterical about fats and I do use English butter, the kind with St George's flag on it. On Monday we had a loin of pork and purple sprouting broccoli with it, this was steamed for 5 minutes and was absolutely gorgeous. DH had never had it and he didn't know how much to buy, but we ate it all anyway. We didn't put salt on, just a little pepper and a knob of butter. Fantastic. This is a vegetable with a short season and is best eaten as soon as possible after it's picked, so eat it the same day as you buy it.
We ate the rest of the pork in sandwiches on our picnic yesterday.
