Time for some new motivation - My new personal challenge is to exercise EVERY DAY for 4 weeks in a row! It might sound like a weird one, but I am funny about doing exercise every day, I prefer to space it out. But I would like to kick start my body, sort out my fitness and improve my mood - I think exercise will help do that.

this is not good for you, you should rest at least once a weak and ideally every 4th-5th day

I have rejoined Weightwatchers after losing 2 and a half stone (and putting back on half of it). I started this time last year, and got to my goal at the end of June. I went on holiday and put on 5lb (too close for comfort to get back on the scales when you are only allowed to put 5lb back on before paying again!). I thought I could do it myself, but then christmas came and I put on another 5 lb. Then I put my back out and was unable to exercise for 10 weeks, and another 7lb on!!! I can't believe it! I felt great last year - and I am really disappointed with myself for not going back as soon as I'd put on the 5lb from holiday.

Still - I have gone back now. And I am on the right track. But I just cannot get my head around this new propoints! I knew what I was doing with the old points, and what things measured in points, but I am finding it a bit more complicated! Is it just me?! I can't get my head around not counting points for fruit! I have just eaten a ww bagel (4 points) with 1 tsp lemon curd (1 point) and a banana (0 points). That has really filled me up, but I can't help feeling that by eating the banana I have eaten more points than that???

I am not sure if I am making sense. Probably not! Does anyone have the ww kitchen scales? Are they worth buying? I got the new calculator to help, and the shop and eat books.

Tell me it will click with me soon!!!

Thanks. And well done to everyone on here. I often pop over to this forum and see how everyone is doing, and the general chit chat....

    xx
  • I am on the new WW PP system, I am on week five and I am getting used to it. I used to only have 17 points on the old system, so when I look at food and see that something has 5 points in it I worry that I wont have enough points for the day.... then I realise that I have 29 to use in a day and it all becomes clear again. It is a bit of a shift, and not counting fruit is great as long as you don't eat too much. The temptation is to eat tonnes of the stuff, but there are calories in fruit too... I try to have three portions of fruit a day and no more. That way I know I get my five a day, but I know I am not going crazy on calories. I am still getting into the system, but it just takes time. I track using my phone which makes it really easy to see where I stand. If you have all of your old paperwork, you could use the old system of counting if you can't get to grips with PP. There is a forum on the WW site for people using the original system. Give it a few weeks though and I am sure it will all just click. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Why don't you join one of the April challenges?

I'll join in the marathon if that's a thing. I can't run due to the impact on my knee (it gives out at the increased pressure, I fall over, people panic and come running over thinking I've had a heart attack or fainted etc)

My weight loss is actually inspired by something one of my doctors said. She told me I was playing hopscotch between normal bmi and overweight, and if I swapped that to normal and underweight I might well find I can run and bend again (BMI is 22.6 as of this morning).

A week or two ago everyone very kindly looked over a food diary of a few days and decided it was too carby. I'd apprecite a few more comments on what it is now. I'd also love any breakfast suggestions, bearing in mind I eat at my desk at work, and I hate eggs.

    Yesterday:
    Breakfast: Couldn't think of one!
Lunch: Rocket, chicken breast, half a pepper, a spring onion and an apple, 15 red grapes, 5 strawberries
Dinner: 1/2 a courgette, an onion, a leek, a pepper, 6 mushrooms stir fried with another chicken breast and some sesame seeds, soy sauce and garlic
Drinks: Water (but not enough of it), 1 diet coke, glass of milk

    Today:
    Breakfast: Apple, 15 grapes
Lunch: Rocket, 2 slices parma ham, chicken breast, 1/2 a pepper, a spring onion
Dinner: Steak sandwiches, onions (homemade bread, only one slice, at mum and dads so can't be too picky!)
Drinks: Water, glass of milk, 1 diet coke

    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off

T'was my own stupid fault. My crime? Listening to an 'expert'. At the Vitality Show, the health advisor said it was bad to eat within 4 to 6 hours after eating. She said it mucked up the digestive system etc etc so I started clock-watching. I've never been so hungry as I have been this week as I usually ate small and often (about 5 times a day). This went down to only 3 times a day with a lot of tummy-rumbling in between. The pack of mullerlight yoghurt which I bought, which would normally be finished in 3 days, is still in my fridge! I drank water to quieten my hunger pangs as she hammered "this was how the body was devised".

I kept on thinking I needed to eat especially with the high-intensity workout I do daily. My body must have thought there was a famine.

So, anyway, today weigh day, I stepped on the scales and it registered 10 stones 2Ibs. If I take this weight from the Vitality Show one on Sunday, I've lost 1 pound but I normally weigh in on a Friday and last Friday, I was 10 stones which means I've put on 2 pounds 8.gif

I'd still take her advice about drinking more water and the benefits etc but the rest of it, 11.gif:rotfl:

So Fred my man, take my starting weight as 10 stones 2Ibs :(

thanks Eric, but dont worry believe me it wont be high intesity every day.
The c25k running prog says to always leave 1 day in between runs so on those days I will just do, say, 15/20 mins on the stepper, or some sit ups and press ups, or some light swimming - Very low intesity, just enough to break a very light sweat but not wear me out.

Also a chance to work on different muscles, that running wont have an impact on (like my arms) whilst proving to myself that I can exercise every day, ANY day, I can always find the time for it, I shouldn't avoid it or make excuses.

I hate getting stuck in a lazy rut - I find that doing nothing one day makes me less likely to do anything the next day too.

But if I find that I have had a very hard time during the week, if I'm aching a lot, for example, or feeling like i've over-exerted myself, I will bear in mind my body's need to rest and give myself either Saturday or Sunday off.

    Go for it betty!!

I'm up for the marathon too, i wont be able to start tuntill the 8th, and then actually maybe i wont!! haha. I haven't walked properly for 6 weeks so perhaps trying to get in 26 miles is going to be pushing it? I dunno. I'll see what happens and report back! Perhaps a half marathon would be achievable though.

Forgive me Martin :money:, for I have sinned...

    I just bought a treadmill.
Did I need it - not really.
Could I afford it - not really.

I knew it was coming, I've been eyeing them up for ages so it was just a matter of time before I cracked and bought one! To be fair, it was a bargain on eBay, there are just plenty of other things that I should be spending my money on this month.

Oh well, it's all in the name of weight loss! Well I'm up for any of the challenges we've thought of, have we settled on the marathon? (or double marathon!) as that seems to have the most interest?

I can see, after all your hard work, why you feel so disappointed BUT surely you are making tonnes of muscle with all the working out you are doing? You should be so proud of yourself :j
