I ride my bike but won't be able to judge distance on that. I could use the exercise bike in the gym though (would the reading on the crosstrainer be much different as I use that equipment more)SECRET TO WINNING PRIZES

Thanks for that, Princess Jelly. So, with 30 days in April that would be 28.23 miles a day, or 20.1 miles depending on the route.
Does that sound do-able? I have no idea how far I go on my bike, I just check time and cals.
That sounds an awful amount to do in a month
I was wondering about swimming the channel which is 21 miles at the shortest crossing - not sure that I could do that yetNot Rachmaninov

I do still read everyday but I don't have much to say as I am not actively trying to lose weight any more and I am so committed to my new way of eating, it is hard to offer advice or opinions on a more normal diet with procressed food and sugar in.
I am at the very top end of my bmi and am just monitoring my weight and seeing avery very slow downward trend which is good;another half stone off would be great but it may take the rest of the year.
I've been doing the raw vegan diet for a month now. Can't believe it myself as I love meat (I'd already given up my beloved cheese 7 months ago). But my health continues to limit my life and when I read up on this diet, something just clicked inside me and I just knew this was the right thing to do. Don't worry, I still refuse to wear socks with my sandles..:rotfl:
I'm certainly eating very healthily and don't feel deprived. Lots of yummy avocado's, hummous & dates in the mix:D
I'm also busy de cluttering and have got rid of half of what I own in the last 2 months, so that has taken up more of my time.
Thought twas doing well on one thing a day = 365 in a year:rotfl:

Thanks for the distance stuff (and the insanity link - it sounds bonkers ). I worked it out to 32.33 km a day. Im not sure if this is accurate. I also dont know how viable that distance it is in a day.
To the swimming idea (I could do both challenges so either is feasable), how many lengths of a swimming pool equal a mile? (Its not olympic sized). I manages 20 lengths on Monday in my session. My butt STILL aches
Im hoping this stupid laryngitis/cold/annoying illness passes soon. I want to be swimming on Monday again :money: Saving money, saving the environment and saving space (aka decluttering) - my motto this year!0 -
WOO FREAKIN' HOO!!!! I've just completed flight number 1360, that takes me to 11333 ft! Challenge completed. :T:T :TMatryoshka wrote: »I ride my bike but won't be able to judge distance on that. Is it a normal bike or exercise bike? If it's a normal bike and you do regular routes on it, you can always check some online route planners to get the distance. I think the crosstrainer would be fine to use as it does the same motion as a bike.Frogletina wrote: »That sounds an awful amount to do in a month

They both sound like great challenges, but if we're going to really struggle to complete them then maybe we need to try think of other places with a more suitable distance, either that or extend it to a 6 week challenge... or even a Spring Bank holiday challenge!0 -

Most pools, like the one I use, are 25 metres in length, I swim 32 lengths at a time which is half a mile.

Eek, if I've worked it out correctly then that's just under 1350 lengths! That does sound quite a lot to do in a month.0 -
