In case you were wondering, the thing about buying software was to show that you have used it, AND invested money it, and therefore won't be returning it. Worked for me anyway. Thanks to everyone who posted here and helped us all save a few ££!:D

And on the other side of the coin....I said I was considering returning and immediately got £30 refunded on each of the netbooks I bought.

I really think it's just down to who you get and who read their memos.

Thank you to cottingley for highlighting the refund situation. I already knew about the processor issue as I'd phoned Tesco myself at point of ordering at the weekend but I wasn't aware people were being given goodwill gestures with regard to this.

Can I ask what progs people have uninstalled and if there have been any difficulties doing so? I got rid of the Office trial software,Norton and tried to uninstall Mywinlocker which is where it all hit the fan. It wouldn't uninstall and a quick search showed that many people have had the same problem. I eventually had to download another piece of software to get rid of it.

Also, to ensure ALL of McAfee has gone, it's better to use their removal tool but it advises activating the software first before removing it. Not sure why?

Yes they are snug fit I got one today but not that one as it was out of stock day after I posted it on here

Its due to the battery sticking out I ordered not realising the battery would stick out, I did check and double check the dimensions as well before ordering

No worries, I can still use the case in the meantime for extra protection for my smaller Acer Aspire that I got a good deal on from Asda a couple of years ago.:) I am looking at some on Amazon, good price -

I took Mcafee off, (not using their too)l, and installed AVG, seems to be running ok.

Btw, just a recommendation for Crucial here, my 2GB memory arrived 24 hours after ordering. Can't fault their service.

And RAM wise, will this work at £21.64 delivered? http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=34698

    ooo, how? Any improvements?

Can't believe this was £108.90 after Quidco and refund- that's less than a Kindle!

    http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/drivers

    select netbook/acer aspire/aod250

Mind had either 1.26 or 1.27 now its 1.29

    1.28 improves battery charging performance.

updated via win7 and then reboot. There is a very small chance of bricking anything when updating bios in any electronic gear
