Tip:- Look into doubling the RAM with your refunds, if you can.
Makes a lot of difference, I am told.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for that.
Would this not invalidate the guarantee?0 -
£30 refunded, result0

Had to insist in speaking to the manager after the customer service guy acted like this was the first he'd heard of it. Manager offered £15, I said it would cost between £20 and £30 to add 2 GiB of RAM and he went up to £20. This is probably what I'd pay for 2 GiB so it seemed a fair amount for me.0

Script to get a £30 Refund!
1. Phone 01992 63222, ask to be transferred to Tesco Direct
2. Select option 4.
3. Give order number
4. something like "I have bought an acer aspire netbook, used it for a few days, and have bought and installed additional software. I thought it was running a bit slow, so checked the processor type through control panel, and have found that it has a slower processor than advertised on your website". Allow operator to reply, in my case, an apology and the magic words- *goodwill gesture payment*
5. "well, I've been speaking with friends who bought the same netbook, and it turns out they received £30"
Et voila, £30 back on my card within 5 days. :j
In case you were wondering, the thing about buying software was to show that you have used it, AND invested money it, and therefore won't be returning it. Worked for me anyway. Thanks to everyone who posted here and helped us all save a few ££!:D0
