HSBC cancelling my accounts because i refused/laughed at them?

If a customer is abusive to an employee of the bank then the bank has the right to give notice of closure of the account.
The only problem here is proof (both sides) as telephone calls from a branch normally are not recorded.
I too think OP has not given us the whole story.0

Your comment doesn't help at all, one wonders why you even bothered.
And to Lokolo, thank you so much, that is very helpful indeed!0

i get rbs calling me for a 'financial review' every so often. i always politely decline but im always tempted to laugh at them, afterall their incompetence left themselves bust. but i certainly wont tell them my opinion as they are within their rights to cancel all accounts and also request immediate payment of any loans or overdrafts....be warned.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000

            Hi there,
I have several accounts with HSBC, i have my wages paid in to one and have not been overdrawn for 4 years.
Last saturday i received a phone call from my local branch asking me if i wanted to go in to their branch to 'review my account', which i read as them having an opportunity to try and sell me accounts/services i dont need!
Now, i said to the woman who rang me 'I am probably the last person you would want to ask if id like to come in to review my account as there is nothing id rather do less' and i had a little laugh and then politely explained that id rather not but thanked her......today i have received a letter from the branch manager explaining how they (HSBC) no longer wish to offer me banking and have given me 3 months notice!!!!
The cheeky swines/sods/****!! Not a coincidence im sure!!
My question is is this a usual thing or is it because i upset the woman who rang me somehow?
I don't particularly like HSBC (or any bank) but they provided a service for me i suppose and am not especially looking forward to moving to another bank. Ideally id LOVE to go 'above her head' and get this reversed but i wonder what my chances are?
 Any comments please?
 Is this her ...0

While you may not find his comment very helpful it is correct, the HSBC CEO is based in Hong Kong. His name is Michael Geoghegan - although if your IT skills are so poor that you're unable to even use Google (other search engines are available) I'm not sure if you'll have much joy getting in touch with him. Anyway, I think you'll find Lokolo's complaint route more useful.0

Well Agrinnall, thanks for your mild insult, you must know that the way to really hurt me is to insult my IT skills!! Nooooooo!!
(Lord knows why you felt the need for an mild insult anyway, but hey- if it helps you feel better i'll take it!!)0
