As an ex employee the only person I ever heard off having an account closed was an extremely abusive customer. Bascially the call was teken in a call centre and and a recording sent to the manager of the customers branch who decided we no longer wanted the business.
When I worked there it was the call centres who made the inital calls to the customer to arrange an appointment and if this is still the case then the call will be recorded and confirm what was said.0 -
Oooooh that would be brilliant!! Unfortunately it was from the local branch though!! (i really was polite....but giggling)0

Hi, what id like to do (i know some will say 'what's the point?') is to write to somebody high up at Hsbc and explain the situation.
Some may also say 'what's the point as they never get to read them' but i've just had a dispute with Orange and a dispute for a friend with Admiral insurance and after writing recorded delivery letters to the CEO, Chairman etc etc, i've had the results i really really wanted.
Could anyone please give me any names and addresses (HSBC ones) of any relevant people at HSBC please?0 -
imo there is more to this story0

file a complaint and if you don't get any resolution, bring it before the ombudsman, assuming you didn't swear or insult the woman then you have a case.
Either way, the ombudsman will automatically cost them a few hundred quid, so do be sure you intend to bring it before them.
No, they offer a service and are free to offer it to who they like. The same way you can't walk into a hair dressers and make them cut your hair, it is upto them who they deal with.
I also think we haven't been given the full story though.0 -
Rather than write a complaint why don't you just pop into your local branch and ask why you've been sent the letter. If the woman issued it maliciously she is unlikely to have put much detail on the screen so I think it would be fairly easy to get the decision reversed. If there is more detail on the system and they still want to close it you have grounds for a more detailed complaint.
I think maybe you came across more rudely than you had intended.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
