As of today, you can do it either all on the phone, or via the PC!

To do it on the phone, use the pre-installed Market app, and to do it from the PC goto https://market.android.com and apps will magically* appear on your phone.

*OK, so not actual magic, but it's pretty damned nifty :rotfl:
  • Thanks again Rusty, helping me through these early days with my OSF. Doesent the market app take me to orange market? And how does downloading to PC put it onto phone. Think you and other MSE'rs are going to be busy on my behalf!! Thanks again for taking the time, really appreciate it

If you haven't flashed the phone with a customer rom, then, yes. Market will take you to Orange market (spits)...

If you have the vanilla OSF then try app brain (http://www.appbrain.com/)...

Oh yeah, the silly thing comes with Orange's "App Shop" as well, ignore that, it's crap :rotfl:

There should be one just called "Market" with an icon that matches the one on the website I linked too. Apps get from the site to your phone with what's called 'push' technology. The site tells the app to your phone to start downloading & install the app over the air (either wifi or your mobile data connection).

If you use the Homescreen switcher, you can get rid or the Orange launcher and use the proper Android one, which should be pre-programmed with a link to the proper Market.
