apologies if i'm wrong or have misinterpreted this information x
would love to knowwhat people think of cariba creek if you've already visited, please xxEverything in life is a paradox. The more you want approval, the more you become a person that other people don't want to approve of, the less you care about whether you get approval, the more you get.:A0 -
parking was free
also, they try to fob you off about pre-booking for cariba creek by saying there's no need to pre-book as it wont be full - we tried later on and there was a different woman on reception who thankfully did it for us no problem, so we got 3 tickets for £8 each. cariba creek was great - we spent nearly 4 hours in there, and could have spent much longer. it was really clean, there were plenty of lifeguards and lots to do - great fun!
I've always wanted to stay in this hotel, but whenever I've looked to price it up on the internet it's worked out at a couple of hundred pounds for peak times (including the waterpark). so this was a wonderful opportunity and at 10 quid not a disappointment. the kids thought it was really special, but if I'd paid top whack I would have been disappointed with the rooms. they are nicely furnished, clean, and the beds are really comfortable, but they are a bit basic.
hope everyone who's booked enjoys it as much as we did.0 -
Nice to hear the review and get some info. What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
I thought the hotel was fantastic and our family room with bunks was large. Only dissapointment is bed was lumpy and I moved to the bunk bed to sleep. On our anniversary as well. But for a tenner room a glass or two of wine should solve that problem! Cant wait to take my daughter to see the hotel just hope there is entertainment as last time I was there on a friday night in May and this time a wed. Not sure how much there will be to do though as theres only the cariba waterpark.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
£11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

Just wanted to make a post to clear up some of the confusion regarding the hotels. I run http://towersalmanac.com so hopefully you can take this as a trusted source! If the OP wants to include any/all of this in the first people so people see it then please free to do so!
There's 2 hotels on site at Alton Towers, the Alton Towers Hotel and the Splash Landings Hotel. Alton Towers Hotel has the Captain's Bar, Dragon's Bar, Secret Garden Restaurant and Spa attached. Splash Landings has the Cariba Creek Waterpark, Flambo's Restaurant and Ma Garrita's Bar. Guests can use the facilities of both hotels and they are interconnected with a walkway.
The site does state that selected bars and hotels may be closed during quieter periods.
Rooms: The Alton Towers Hotel has good sized rooms (bigger than those in Splash Landings) and double / family rooms are the same price so take a family room for even more space! The en-suite bathrooms are a little dated but they're clean and have a bath and shower.
Eating: Flambo's restaurant is an all-you-can eat buffet priced at £18.95 for adults, I don't remember the kids price I'm afraid. Alternatively the Secret Garden Restaurant serves an a la carte menu with main courses ranging from £8.75 - £18.25. There is of course plenty of nice pubs in Alton Village which are a cheaper option if you've got a car.
Swimming: The 'basic' swimming pool closed when Cariba Creek Waterpark opened and has now become part of the Alton Towers Spa. Under 4's go free in the waterpark, adults can pre-book for £8 if stopping in the hotel or £12 on the day. Prices are per day. You can't pre-book online so give the hotel a call.
Parking: Parking charges only apply for the theme park car parks, hotel parking has always been free of charge.
Things to Do: Plenty to do around the Staffordshire area, also Alton Towers will turn the clock back to more traditional times by offering guests the opportunity to visit the house and gardens between 10am and 4pm. What's more, free guided tours of the house will be available at 11am and 2pm, giving visitors an insight into the rich history of the Towers! Refreshments will be available en-route. £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s, tickets from the Hotel Reception. Selected dates only - November 11/12/18/19/25, December 2/3/9/10/16.
It's definitely a bargain price compared to the usual rates and it's a nice hotel. There was plenty of availability when I booked earlier and rooms are £9.99 or £19.99 (Saturday nights I think) once you get them into the basket on lastminute.
Let me know if you've got any other queries and I'll do my best to answer them.0 -

It might be worth trying if he could pass as under 4 on appearance, they can't really ID him! Just make sure your son knows he's 3 for the day just in case they ask him0
