No didnt have protected no claims GeneHunt altho now I know once I build up more no claims if I lose these to protect them.
I told the insurers the truth that I hit her car at the rear bumper and there were light scratch marks which rubbed off and the other party said not to worry we exchanged details and all was forgotten and now 3 weeks later I have been told the marks are along the full side of the car altho they were not visible to either party that day.
I told them that she is pursuing me for payment directly and I was unsure what to do as as far as I was concerned the situation was resolved and I am now with a new insurer etc they just said not to worry they wont pay unless they are fully satisfied with all evidence provided and that if this woman contacts me again I need to tell her to get in touch with the insurance provider and they would sort it from there and write to me once they heard anything.0 -

Maybe wise to come clean with the new insurance company before they contact you. Or do as others advise and say nowt. The choice is yours.0 -

But you were there, so presumably know how/what happened in the incident.
Did you just run into the back of the other car, or drive down the side of it ?
ie. was it physically possible for you to have caused this extra damage or not
Knowing that, you must know if they are trying it on or not
someone else asked this, but I didn't see any response on that point0 -
I now tell my insurance everything.
I was parked outside my house once when I heard an almighty bang and a car had gone into mine. It was written off. The other party was not insured. I was fully comp.
Insurance refused to pay out. I had forgotten to tell them I was working part time for a few weeks. I saw a solicitor, he said " If you change your brand of toothpaste you should tell your insurance otherwise they will wriggle out of paying"0 -
Hi,
Yeah it would of been impossible for me to cause the marks accross the whole of the car I hit the rear bumper (well more like clipped it) and my car slid half way down the back door. There appeared to be light scratches on the rear cumper but no dints/bumps or scratches to the passenger door.
The woman is now claiming I slid along the whole of the car and the scratch is accross the whole car bumper to front drivers side door. However there were no witnesses so the insurers will have to take my word against hers.0 -
You (1) spoke to the owner of the other car (2) at the time, and (3) agreed it wasn't a problem. That's all you have to do.
She is obviously trying it on, so tell her to go away. After all, there were no witnesses, so it's your word against hers. In fact, if you really want to put the boot in, simply say it never happened and that she's an out-and-out fraudster (which she is, actually)."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

Think I'd have seen another solicitor
On those grounds we might just as well give our insurance companies access to our facebook account so they can track whats going on in our lives0 -
...Think I'd have seen another solicitor...
I hope he would have been as on the ball as the first one.
There was a case of a housewife who took part-time teaching work without telling the insurance company and had a bump in a supermarket car park.
The insurance company refused to pay on the basis she was shopping at more risky times because she now had work.
I believe the claim was finally paid, but only after a long battle with the insurers.0 -
Since it was part time work how do they know, she wasn't shopping at her 'normal' time
Maybe they should include the details of 'less risky' shopping times in the policies. So we are all aware
Do those GSS boxes some companies use have a big light on them which indicates 'covered' or 'not covered' - sounds like that could be the next step
This smacks of any excuse to wriggle out of paying, on the grounds that their lawyers are 'bigger' ( or the insurance companies pockets) than yours0 -

That would be my interpretation.
I suppose we all roughly know the questions on the proposal, and 'occupation?' is always one of them.
My take would be to inform the insurance company if one of those key answers changed.
Occupation, address, where the car is routinely parked overnight, that sort of thing.0
