And how about the issue of saying nothing when you renew?

Technically it could invalidate your insurance if you don't declare an accident regardless of blame. But it won't, cos as I said earlier they don't care unless it was claimed for, you only need to declare accidents where claims were made on either policy, if no claim is requested by either party (as was originally the case here) then you don't need to bother.

Where did you get that information from?, my Insurance Policy suggests that all accidents should be reported.

It is a legal document so I always comply with it.

Hence I started with 'technically it could invalidate...'. It won't.

There looked to be a light scratch on the rear bumper which I there and then offered to sort and pay for the woman then rubbed the area and said it was just dirt/paint marks and not to worry. I then left her my details and said if you cant get them off then let me know etc.

However now 3 weeks on she has said there is a mark all along the car that was caused by me. However 3 weeks ago we BOTH inspected the car and it was the light scratch on the rear.

Does that make a little more sense?

Sorry just as far as I was concerned there was no damage as she said oh its fine. Yeah there was a light scratch but she said not to worry etc and now 3 weeks later it is apparantly a scratch all the way long her car.

Am I better off paying her direct and getting it sorted that way so as not to tarnish my insurance or should I let the insurers sort it?

I think you had better ask elsewhere, the blame police have stepped in, ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    Care to explain that then?

Either there was a scratch which is damage or there wasn't.

If the car was wet at the time is it not possible damage was missed?

Technically you can be done for doing 31 in a 30 zone, but you won't be. Technically you can be taken to court by a PPC for not paying their issued fine, but you won't be.
We're here to give advice, mine is to ignore the stupid woman who's trying to get her keyed car fixed for free.

Maybe, but I would never advise anybody to do anything that could possibly result in them risking their insurance validity.

Technically there aren'tany idiots on the net, but I beg to differ.

We can't give binding advice on here, it's all just opions, problem is some are just so much more opinionated than others, and profess it vocally,

You can't do this and you can't do that????
Unfortunately the vast majority take advantage of the fact that you can, untill you get caught

Really? Not that there's any technical ruling for it, but I'd say by averages there would have to be some!
