Last night I called sky
I told them I could not afford the current package, and I was cancelling
They immediatly offered half price for 3 months which I accepted.
Now saving £17/Month
Thanks everybody0 -
Does anyone have any advice, as to what i should hold out form if i ring Sky - hoping to get a decent deal on Sky+.
Had sky for about 10yrs, an currently have the Sports package (1, 2, 3, xtra) - dont need multiroom - and would like a "half price offer" but that might be asking for a bit much.
Also, are there still different versions of Sky+ boxes? Which is the one i should/could get?
Finally are any deals likely to change in the New Year? But am thinking that they might have some sort of sales target to reach for december etc and once met so it could be worth it.
Thanks0 -
Used the freephone number to call Sky and said what could they offer me as I need to cut back on expenses, I also mentioned getting a deal for new customers though the post and could I get that. I was asked for the reference number which I didn't have to hand so he offered me 1 months half price on my current package while I find the offer code. Not quite what I wanted and it will be interesting when i find the offer as it was the £21 package for £5 a month for a whole year.
Also mentioned the possibility of getting Sky+ but he said I would need to talk to sales about that.0 -
Just phoned Sky as i genuinely needed to cancel due to money pressures.
Did'nt get offered any discount whatsoever, so be warned those of you out there just wanting to save the odd couple of quid.....It apperars that it is all dependant on who you speak to and which side of bed they got out of this morning lol0 -
Phoned up and the best offer they gave - when i said i would probably cancel was £99 for a sky+ box and 50% off the monthly package price (sports world or whatever its called)
I didnt fancy paying the £99 fee and asked for it at £49 but he said only if you get multiroom at £10 a month extra - didnt fancy that either.
I mentioned i may be able to recommend a friend to get sky and he said that would be the best way to get a free/best value sky+ box without multiroom. Plus, it would be the 80hrs recording time version.
They kept saying the £49 deal was until the end of last month but when you say you've seen it on their website they say "oh yes...blah blah"
My hope was for to pay £49 for the sky+ without the need for multiroom. I might have to get the friend to get a move on with the recommendation idea though as their 3 months at half price package offer ens tomorrow - no idea what the next offer will be. Though the salesman on the phone kept saying he thought it was 3 months free?
Does anyone know if new customers get 3 months free?
Also, if i sign the friend up through quidco is that ok? Not sure how quidco works, though the £50 cashback sounds good.

That is so true. I phoned this morning with the intention downgrading to 6 mixes from Sky sports world. Nice lady in CS offered me Sky sports 1 & 3 and all the odd numbers in Sky Movies for £26 for the next 3 months - extra channels until March for £10 less than I currently pay.
Sorry you didnt get any joy from them. All I can suggest is to try phoning again tomorrow.0 -
I just phoned Sky and was offered the 2 mix at half price, £7.50 for 6 months OR the full package for £21.25 for 3 months. I took the 3 month option at £21.25 a month, only 25p more a month than I am currently paying! :j
SAVING £21.25 x 3 = £63.75. I used the 01506 522720 number which only cost me 3p instead of paying 9p a min. Was on phone for 14 mins and 13 secs therefore I saved over a £1. True mse or what?? :money: THANKS to everyone on these boards and the good man himself, Martin! :T :A0 -
I phoned to disconnect my £21 a month package due to money problems and have now added the movie channels for 3 months at a reduced price of £18 a month. Need to phone 1 month before the offer runs out to plead poverty again and see if it is extended. If they will not extend it i will just disconnect and go for the freeview option. Nothing ventured nothing gained.0
