Also need a HD TV to get the HD picture, think they are turning it on in Feb 2006 unless the date has changed
Does anyone know if Sky have any offers for existing customers to upgrade to Sky+ but I have only had Sky for 3 months0 -

Boo hoo, no joy for me tonight  . My three months half price full package expired, did the ntl thing, and somehow at the cancellations dept she managed to keep my business by going for the customised viewing packages (kids and Knowledge and the Disney channel) for £20. Even though i didnt really watch the movies and sport, i still feel ROBBED!! well, er, as robbed a someone could be for not getting an extension on the packages that is!!
Oh well, looks like Sky+ in the new year for me..or should i can it all and go to NTL or Freeview argghhhh!!! Any advice on my next move for check mate??

Hmm, it seems they're getting wise to us mseer's and are cutting us down to size.
It depends how much you watch. Personally I think top up tv is better value, but that's cos baby sometimes keeps me up late, and I watch UKTVgold. but actually, there's so many good things on BBC 3/4 and ITV 2/3/4(well praps not so much itv), that freeview would probably be okay.
You'e got the box, why don't you cancel for freeview. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get a call soon after cancelation offering you a deal. And if you don't, well you can always be reconnected if you find you miss it.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Thanks for that. How soon afterwards can i be reconnected though. She did give me the speel about if i was to cancel, then reconnect, it would be a double payment as you pay a month in advance yardy yardy.
Was going to do the sky + online with the wifey as a new customer but it isn't available to do online anymore!! They would be very suspish if it was done over the phone so soon after cancellation. Will look into Freeview meanwhile...thanks

told the truth
rang em told em I was short of cash with Christmas coming up
I was offered 3 months 1/2 price almost immediately, enquired about a 12 month deal and was offered 3 months free viewing spread over 12 months= 25% discount no probs, took em up on it
will probably ring and sort out sky plus next, the discount will more than pay for the sky plus multi-room, the guy who sorted me out said that the sky+ deal was to continue and that it might come down to £49 without multi room in the new year. The sky+ box is the new V3 one with 40hrs recording on it
cheers
###update###
ordered me sky+ with multi room
TWO sky+ boxes £49 each
