    Hi

Have already got sky & would like to upgrade to sky plus multiroom but am a bit peed off that they only move the old box upstairs (ours is a few years old & looks a bit scruffy) but new customers get 2 new boxes & 3 months half price, anyone asked for a new box for upstairs at no extra cost? I think it's worth a try, if not I'll cancel the existing subscription & join as a new customer in my partners name.

Tell 'em your box is broken, and tehy'll give you a new one. They may mention charges, but just tell 'em NTL will service and replace boxes freely for teh length of time you are a customer.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I have had half price sky for the last six months and when I tried to cancel this month (due to my half price subscription coming to an end) I was given another couple of months extra free. That makes it ten months half price, not bad I'd say.

Just remember to say you can't afford to keep on subscribing when they ask you why you are going to cancel as they always ask you this, and they will always try and retain your custom.

We tried to cancel a few weeks ago hoping they'd offer us some half price months or whatever & they didn't so we had to ring back up just before the 28 days were up to say we'll keep it after all! Didn't work for us!

Just got my second 3 months at half price, £18 for sports package.
Phoned up to give 30 days notice, said I cant justify paying £36 for something i hardly get time to watch, guy offered me another 3 months when the present deal finishes.

i figured "why not", freeview boxes have all i want on them anyway, so i asked them could i have the movies offer for half price (i genuinley got a brochure thru a few weeks ago), they said new customers only, i said i'd cancle (was quite prepared to aswell, to save myself 20 quid a month!), finally got put thru to cancellations who offered the discount,

i'll prolly cancel after xmas anyway, theres nothing but repeats and crap on all the time now

I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

  • I'm a sky EXISTING CUSTOMER. However, my contract will end 28 Jan. Can I get any offer from them now?
  • Question for all you experts out there:

I am moving house beginning of December and have been a sky customer for 12 years now. I am currently on the sky sports package (half price of course!) and will be calling the in a week or so to cancel. How should I play this as I want sky+ when I move but I am not prepared to pay the £40 they charge to reinstall regular sky, don't know what they charge for sky+.

Should I go through the normal cancellation dept and come clean that I am moving and see what they offer or just cancel and resubscibe using the wifes name etc and get the new customer benefits. I will do the usual and say that I will investigate NTL and telewest even though they are not available!

to be honest if you don't mind gettibg tied into a 12 month contract again then just cancel and sign up again online through quidco (pays you £50) under you OHs name you will still get free installation plus new equipment and warranty and 3 months half price packages.

Or if you don't want to do this go through the cancellation department and they will eventually offer to install for free - they did for me :D
