Got through after being cut off several times. Actually thought they were going to terminate my contract, said i would get a letter detailing the end of my contract, then finally "as a goodwill gesture" they would give give me three months half price (saving of £54 over three months). Result!!!

    Thanks everyone.

After my 3 month half-price I phoned up again to cancel. They pointed out the lesser packages available but offered nothing more. I told them just to cancel it.

The day before turn-off I relented and told them to keep the Sky+ features for a tenner (£10 a month to use a system I bought :( ) then a couple of days later I found out a couple of my favourite programmes were starting again on Sky 1 so I had to get back onto Sky.

This choice of mix seems a better idea - I got Knowledge and Variety which had 99% of the channels I watched anyway! The news one seems a big con as most of the news channels are free anyway.

  • Had to "give notice" as my 3 months half-price had one month left to go; managed to get 20% off for a year but they insisted on starting from now, so had to lose my last month at half-price!

I've posted this in another Sky thread, but it looks like the freephone number via the disney channel has been plugged. Option 1 now just gives you a directive to call 0870 blah blah blah.

Bummer, I've a good mind to cancel now, that'll learn 'em.

Are they reading this ste then, to see how we're all trying to get a little of our hard earned cash back.

Let's face it, it's hardly good value for money is it. Just a load of repeats, even on the film channels. Any new(ish releases you still have to pay per view. It's expensive, inhibiting and limiting. If I weren't married to a man, I'd get rid of it without a qualm. I reckon top up tv is better value for money.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
  • I phoned up yesterday and told them I would like Sky + for £49. They said ok but it was a 12 month contract. I had 6 weeks left on half price so I phone up disconnections and told them I wanted 20% off for 12 months, they said ok.

I then phoned back Sky + who said I had to had Multi room for £10 per month, as I'm getting 20% off I said ok. They then offered me two Sky + boxes one for upstairs and one for down for £49 each (£98 total). I think this is a great deal, my mate will link my Sky + upstairs to the whole house so I will be sorted.

    Happy days :T
    nothing.
  • I wonder if doing this (threatening cancellation)will work for NTL cable customers??!!
