got my sky+ today after loads of problems...

was told i would be called before 9am with approx time for fitting by 9.30 still hadnt heard anything so called sky was told engineer would call within the hour so i waited at 11am engineers boss called to say they couldnt do it today as engineer had called in sick so next day for fitting would be thursday
told them it wasnt good enough and that i would call sky

sky sent another engineer out(one or their own) who came within a few hours
but he had been told it was just to fit standard sky not sky+ so didnt have refurb box in van

he went away made a few phone calls and the end result was i got a brand new unused sky+ box at no extra charge!

Tried for the last 3 days to get sky+ £49 re-furbished box without the multiroom
and they just won't budge at all.
I don't want to have to pay an extra £10 per month they got enough of my money anyway.
    Any suggestions?

keep trying (see my previous post), you have to threaten to cancel or they won't give you the £49.00 deal - eventually you will get someone who will 'check with their supervisor' and then offer you the deal - they will try and sell multiroom, but just say you only have one tv and don't need it - got my confirmation letter from sky today - confirms 'a' grade sky plus @£49.00, well chuffed - and thanks to the guys on this forum

tried the 'only have one tv' thing but it didn;t make a blind bit of difference!
I also asked to speak to the supervisor/team manager ,no luck at all.

did you go through to cancellations department? when they answer, ask for cancellations straight away....they will ask why you want to cancel, etc. I said I was interested in sky plus, but that it was too expensive and a friend of mine got an offer od the £49.00 deal, and asked if that was still available, several minutes later and a check with supervisor and they offered it to me and then tried to sell in multiroom, which I said i didn't need - don't give up! keep trying and you will get there in the end.

They are installing mine tomorrow - had a really nice chat with the cancellations department lady - £49 deal - she knows all about this website and aslo digital spy, i was on 19.50, upgraded to movies at 35.00 she tried the multi room/relocate box but accepted my no thanks to that. Jokingly i said i would sel my old box on ebay - she advised me i would prob get 40.00 for that and then she offered me half price on my new sub for three months - im payinmg 40.00 install though is this right? anyway think its a good offer and as she said when out of warranty you can always upgrade by putting a bigger hard drive in your machine. Nice Lady, Good deal thanks for the lead here folks.
