edit: what did you say to customer services to get to disconnections?
Dan
When you get through to customer services tell them you want to disconnect as you cannot afford the monthly service charge.
When you go through to disconnections tell them you are interested in Sky+ but you cannot afford the regular price & you heard that there was a recent offer of £49 including free installation.
They should then offer you the £49 deal.0 -
Just called them, explained that a friend told me about the offer and they ofered it to me strait away.
I was also given another number 08705 959595 to call if there's any problem.
Cheers

telly-addict wrote:I just spent 20-odd minutes on the phone to Sky (fortunately it was the 0800 number) but the best I could get was the £49 refurb Sky+ but only with multi-room.
This was after speaking to the supervisor in Scotland - the first person I spoke to had no idea, she put me through to someone else who firstly suggested he knew nothing about it, then said he had no authority to give that offer. The best he could offer was Sky + alone for £259 (£199 plus installation). So I asked to speak to someone that could give the offer.
She did refer to multi-room as 're-locate' and said that this was part of the £49 offer. She said we could cancel after 12 months, to which I suggested she pay the £120 then, if it wasn't so much!
Do they keep a record of these calls do you think? A different supervisor may give a different answer?
To anyone that has had the difficulty I did, then call Sky again. I just phoned and spoke to a different person, who didn't feign ignorance about the boxes, just said 'I'll put that order through for you'. Asked if I wanted multi-room, no pressure, I just said no.
So there is hope and it is worth trying again. No mention that this offer was going to end soon, just that it is the boxes that were returned after a month's trial.:j0 -
As I'm on Sky+ I wonder what offers I'd get if I say I'm going to cancel? Is Sky+ any use without a subscription?0

Just rang - got SKY+ for £49 for my Dad (reconditioned!) What a bargain! I got it last year for £99 and it is the best thing! Need to upgrade the hard disk though as you soon fill the 40gb original disk! A summer project I think!0

Can you explain to me how it works regarding the Sky card once you have Sky+? If you sell it with the box on Ebay, do you have to cancel your subscriptions with Sky so that the person you sell it to has to doesn't have the benefit of the package you have paid for?
Does Sky+ have a Sky viewing card too?
What would stop me asking my local TV engineer to move my old Sky box into another room and hooking up to (presumably a new) dish? As you can tell, I'm a little confused here!0 -

You will keep your existing sky card - this is used with the new (to you) sky+ box.
So if you were to sell your sky box you would sell it on it's own.

I had my sky + fitted this morning. very pleased with it and the bloke thinks its never been used. He did tell me that the offer of a refurb box was origanally only offered to bt employers so I filled him in on the money saving site. He was going to offer me a magic eye for £60 but realised I ain't that stupid. He buys them for a fiver and fits them for £60. does anyone know where I can get one of these please?
My cousin in the isle of man was turned down for the sky + 10 minutes after I got my sky + by a very rude man who insisted that there was no way I could have got this offer. I've told him to keep trying and emailed him a few quote's from this site.HOW MUCH ?0
