I know this isn't quite as good as some previous offers that have been posted, but might be useful for those of you that have used all the previous ones already.

Had a flyer from Sky on the weekend, says that if you buy either the Sports (£33) or Movies (£35) packages you get the other free. Obviously noone will be buying the more expensive of the two!

So not an amazing deal, but better than nothing. Full package for £3 for 3 months.

You need to call 08702 423 950 by May 31st to qualify (or you could try the freephone number from 0800 although not sure what dept. you should ask for).

We came to the end of our 3 month half price full package deal at the weekend so my husband phoned to cancel. He was immediately asked if he wanted another 3 month half price full package which, of course, he did. Well, it would be rude to refuse:)

I have just checked back, and I originally got three months half price back on 26/08/04. I ran back in November, got another three months, did the same in Feb with the same result and yesterday tried again.

I really thought they would have realised and said no but before I could even begin to say that I wanted to cancel was quickly offered an extension of another three months full package for £20.50!!

I did say that the football season is ending on Saturday and E4 will soon be available on freeview (not too sure, but read it on here somewhere) and he was more than happy to offer me the deal.

I would say it may help to be friendly and quite chatty. It works for me anyway.

Good luck everyone! Keep trying they really need our custom over the summer months.
    LBM 12.09.12 - £53K in debt.
    DFD - 11.07.2019 (OMG).
New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.

Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.

I phoned Sky in February to take the family pack for just a month. The first person I spoke to enabled the pack for me, then put me through to the cancellation dept as I had to give the months notice. However the cancellation dept offered me three months at £13.50 pm so I kept the package. At the end of two months I rang to give notice to cancel as I dont want to pay £19.50 after month three and I wasnt even bothered about keeping it even if they offered me the current deal. I was put through to the cancellations dept and was offered a further three months at half price so I took the offer.

with Sky if you want to upgrade or downgrade your package do you have to give a set amount of notice, previously on NTL you would ring up and there and then they would amend package up or down and would be effective within a few hours and then appear on next bill, is Sky different then can't see anything in the contract documentation referring to it specifically, just the 30 day notice to cancel outside of minimum term of contract?

No notice required to upgrade or downgrade in my experience. Have done so at least twice before I got SkyPlus. Now if I downgrade I'll have to pay an extra £10 for Sky Plus services.

Rang Sky the other week, to Moan that new customers seem to get better deals i was talking about the sky+ deals the fact ive been with them 6yrs, now,,,etc etc....

after a chat with a nice young lady(well she sounded nice), she offered me the Sky+ at £99.00 instead of the £149.00 and free installation and this was on the understandin i took Multi room, well as me and the misses always fight over what we want to watch i thought that it was no bad thing,

soto cut along story short they are coming out this week to install sky+ and move the current box to another room and set it all up and it will cost me £40 a mnth and with this i will get several movie channels and some sports channels too. and all the benefits of Sky+ and the multiroom not bad i thought.

she did inform me it was a recon box but that it came with a 12month warrenty, and she also said that they were only allocated 2 of these boxes a day to offer to customers, how true that is i don't know but i just thought i'd and my 10pence worth in!!
