  • Been looking to trim our outgoings due to overspending at xmas, so decided one way was to ditch Sky. I have been reading this post and did wonder if they would offer me anything when I called to cancel.

We have sky + and multiroom, and are with Sky talk, over £50 per month, but there was no offer of a half price subscription. They seemed happy to cancel both my Sky and my Sky Talk. They half heartedly tried to get me down to the £13.50 per month package, but no real hard sell on their part.

I think it could be due to the fact that I have been with Sky since '99 and they probably think I will go back once I am flush again. Ah well, bye Rupert!

    Cheers

I did. They offered me the half price 3 month deal!!
  • I rang earlier today.I have sky plus at £41 per month.I said i was looking to move to cable as they have a discount offer and Sky offered me 3 months 1/2 price. It now costs £20.50 per month for the next 3 months. If you have SKY then give it a go and recoup some money back from them !!! ;D
    Onwards and Upwards ;)
  • Following the posts on this site last September, I got 3 months of the full Sky package for half price (£20.50 per month). The discount finished in December and my package went back up to £41.

I phoned them tonight to say I wanted to cancel and was offered 3 months at £30. I'd hoped to get the half price deal again, but at least it's better than nothing, so I agreed, and will review things again in April. I'd be interested to hear from others who have tried to get a second (or even third) discounted deal from Sky.
  • I would urge anyone who has sky to give them a ring.I was worried that they would call my bluff but was wrong. The guy on the phone did stall a bit at first and said was i sure i wanted to be transferred to the "cancellation"dept.I said yes and as soon as the lady came on the phone she asked if it was just the price that was forcing me to cance,if it was she felt sure she coulsd help.BINGO..help she did.So go on get on the phone and save some money..at least £20.50 x 3 :D
    Onwards and Upwards ;)
  • I have a pal I was telling about the cancelation offer as he has been on the full package for a long time. So he plucks up the courage and gives Sky the call to cancel. He explains he is finding things difficult financially at the moment and wants to cancel. The Sky rep feels for him what with the expense of Sky but offers no cut price deal. So he goes all the way through and cancels with a months notice. He subsequently breaks out in cold sweat what with the loss of Sky Sports and reinstates his package. Its funny how this works as I have had 2 cut price deals in the last 7 months when Ive phoned I had the full package for £20.50 and the family package at £13.50. Win some you lose some I suppose ::)

been over a week since I phones to cancel SKy. All I have received was a letter comfirming the cut off data... ironically, it was on the same day that I got a flyer offering me 3 months half price if I sign up :)

Will wait another week then phone the cancellation dept.

It seems very odd how some people do well out of phoning Sky and some don't.

I have been very lucky of late, phoned to cancel and was given 3 months 1/2 price, then my sky box failed, phoned to cancel again and will be getting a free sky box today. I also managed to get a free box out of them 18 months ago because that one failed. ( I just said I would not pay £65 to get a Sky engineer out)

I did really mean I would of cancelled and I would have followed it through, maybe they can tell by the tone of your voice.
