Sky Discount For Existing Customers

Thanks for all the great advice in this thread.
I was paying 41 per month for Sky World. Rang Customer Services and told them that I'd been offered a deal by the local cable company - one month free and 3 months half price. White lie. After putting me on hold and waiting a short time they came back and offered me 3 months half price with no qualms. They even apologised that they couldn't match the free month.
So a saving of 61.50 !!!!
This gives me three months to develop a strategy for savings beyond that.
Thanks again.0 -
I've just come off a 3 month discounted deal and have gave them notice to cancel my subscription. I have Prem Plus at the moment, has anybody any idea if that gets cancelled down as well when they cut me off? I'm thinking of calling back a day before the cut off to see what happens. Anybody else tried that?0

yes they will turn off prem plus if you cancel but you can keep it even if you downgrade to the minimum package

Damski, is that ringing up as an existing customer and threatening to cancel, or ringing up as an ex-customer and asking what deals they've got? You're my badger now Dave.0

that was as an existing customer, been with sky since the original 16 channel non remote boxes!!!
told them that i was changing jobs with not as much overtime and that the christmas bills were begining to bite and that i didnt really want to lose the sports, but would have to bite the bullet
wish i had done it earlier, and i didnt even have to tell any white lies0 -
