hi there i have the £19.50 package and rang up several months ago and got the discount of £6 a month, then
rang up beginning of Dec and managed to get the same
deal, and the guy in the Retentions team explained they
have all these targets to hit reg, new customers and
exisiting each quarter the targert increases but the
number of people liivin in the uk isn't going up by that
much(forget actual numbers he used) so they are
fighting figuers, so my thoughts are that they will be
offering this for a while. also found out that the £19.50
package isn't the cheapest they have several below this
going dnw to as low as £13.00, Just incase people didn't know!!! also if anyone knows of a good sky+ package for existing customers id love to know!!!0 -
I have to agree with Superted presently there are HUGE pressures for them to hit subscriber target figures. A way of doing this is to reduce the number of subscribers leaving.
I read a research paper and it said that in order to get a new subscriber it costs about £500 (installation cost box etc...) that's according to Rupert Murdoch in response to an Analsyst's question. Now if you want to keep a subscriber for 3 months you'll be paying £20-30 per month to subsidise their package, and as a conseqence they'll be included in that quarter's subscription figures. If you look at it like that it's cheaper to keep existing users than sign on a new one.
Therefore I would think they'll try pretty hard to keep you.0 -
Wait till the 10th Jan, and do following
"Phone the techy number (08702 420331) and quoted 'happy 3' after a brief check they will offere 3 months of sky world at £20.50"
I promise
has anyone else tried this promo code? my 3 months half price package ended and after ringing them up to 'cancel' the best they would offer me (as i told them i like the sports) is the sports package at £28.50. i refused and then he had the cheek to offer me this 'promotion' which was sky sports 1/2 and 3 with sky movies 2,4,8,10 for £30 and will have this rate until september. i said thats no special deal but he replied that it used to be £35 and that they reduced it to target people like me. i rejected this 'deal' and nothing else offered so i cancelled. my cut off date is 5th jan and was wondering if this promo actually works... ???0 -

Just called Sky up tonight to cancel. I told them my local cable company were going to give me the full package for 1 month free and then 3 months half price (lot of pish!). Woman put me through to another woman I explained again and she gave me the spiel about how you get more channels on Sky and best she could do is give me full package for £19.50 for one month so I said I get all the channels I usually watch on cable plus the sports and movies for 1 month free and 3 months half price.
She then went to speak to her boss and came back on and said because I was a loyal customer for so long and so nice on the phone she could give me the full package for 3 months for £20.50 £1 more than the family pack! Said it will take from 20mins to 24hours to activate but as I was so nice and a fellow Scot she would put me on high priority.
When the offfer is nearly up I think I'll call again tell them I have an even better offer from cable company ;D0 -
I phoned Sky on Wednesday to cancel as xmas is so expensive, I had had the upgrade to the full package 4 months ago for 3 months at £20.50 this had expired and I was paying the full price this month. Anyway ended up with the family package for 3 months at £13.50 so it was worth the price of the call.
