What happens if you end up cancelling? How much notice do you have to give? 1 Month? Or do they do it straight away? Can you change your mind in that time?
And if they cut you off, is there a re-connection fee/hassle?

Normally the notice period is one month - you used to be able to terminate straight away, but they gave me some bull about it taking a month for the system to catch up with any "box office" type viewing that you've made - so what's stopping them from billing your account afterwards anyway?

    With regards to the question on what channels you get when they do cut you off. Well, they stopped my card last week, and the only channels of real value to us are;

    ITV2 & 3, BBC3 & 4, CBBC & Cbeebies.
    Although E4 & E4+1 are NOT available :(

For those in areas where reception is poor for the 5 terrestrial channels, these are still available.

However, you do need to leave your card inserted to view any of these.

They leave your account dormant, and returning is just a matter of a phone call, with no charge for re-connection.

rang again last night to say I wanted to cancel sky,
I did this in oct and was not offered anything then either. Sky must have made some money out of me
since I was on the phone for 30mins she was trying
to sell me a upgrade explaining for an extra £3 a
month I could have all the movies "but the ones I have are crap" never got any discounts on the package.
I had three months half price back in april, so from the
6th jan I will be down to free view and it does'nt bother me, since people are right the £35 a month could buy
    a few dvds etc.

my 6 month half price full package offer runs out xmas eve ,cant decide whether to cancel the lot some or get sky+ i rarely get to watch a lot on it as i am here all the time ;D. i may end up with the basic with premier plus footy as i believe i can order it while i have the sports channels & as long as i have my account open paying the minimum thereafter i will still recieve premier plus £25 for the remainder of the season seems a bargain

I tried to cancel today, spoke to a very nice man but he wouldn't allow me to do it, as the account holder is my hubby.
Told hubby about it tonight and he wasn't interested, to nervous about losing the footie.
I was just reading this site and he sloped off for a while. Came back in the room and said he'd rang sky and they've given him £20.50 off for 3 mths, no strings attached.
Thanks guys for the info :)
